Title ----- Auto Reverse v1 Goal ---- If you have a piece of track which has a beginning and an end, then you need a mechanism to automatically reverse the train when it reaches the end (or beginning) of the track. Solution -------- Put a light sensor at the beginning and the end of the track. When the train is in front of the sensor the power to the track is set to 0 (no power) and the train stops. After a configurable delay, the power to the track is reversed and the train travels to the other side. Bill Of Materials ----------------- 1x RCX 2x Light Brick 2x Light Sensor 1x Train Track Contacts 4x Electric Wire .. Track Straight/Curved Issues/suggestions ------------------ - The power to the track is retrieved from the power of the RCX. I don't know how long you can run a train on the track before the power of the RCX is too low it stops working. If you're lucky and you have a RCX 1.0 with an external power supply, then you don't have this problem. A better solution should be to connect a mini/micro motor to Output_C which controls a pole reverser which is connected between a speed regulator and the train track contacts. - To avoid the train running of the track, you can add a train buffer at the beginning and end of the track.
