[Theme Song] SPIRIT: Welcome to Episode 12 of Treespeak on the Air. I'm SPIRIT. Dr. Bionicle: I'm Dr. Bionicle. Bioni-Cool Jack: I'm Bioni-Cool Jack. Core Dimension: And I'm Core Dimension. SPIRIT: Over to Dr. Bionicle with the BZPower Report. Dr. Bionicle: Well today, uh we got the results of two contests. BBC 36: Back to the Future; the sixth prize winner was -T08- with Kryshan: Cyborg Assassin, fifth was "bingiuh" or bngi, however you say that, with The Hovering Mini Tank, fourth place was -Crossfire- with Toa Azteka, third place was Iruini Nuva with The End of an Age, second place was -Shannara- with Voporak: Evolved, and first place was ToM Dracone with Chloros. We also have the results for the Skin Contest, which Binkmeister posted a while back, and these are the top six that will uh- which you will soon be allowed to choose from as skins for BZPower: Stubbed Toa's entry -- Bio.teknik --, Air Master's entry Mata Nui, Pohatu Toa of Electronics' entry VahkiPower, Screenguy (uh who didn't even uh have a name for his entry) Violet Tonks (who also didn't have a name for his entry), and Zumoro Nuva's uh, which was named Voya-Nui. SPIRIT: Onto the discussion topics. Topic 1: The Inika Mask Powers. These were recently released to us by Greg and although we already knew Hahli's and Kongu's, we didn't know the ones of the other four Toa Inika. So for those of you who are too lazy to actually find the topic, the mask powers are as follows: Hahli- Detection, Nuparu- Flight, Hewkii- Accuracy, Matoro- Spirit, Jaller- Fate, and Kongu- Telepathy. Bioni-Cool Jack: I was very surprised with Nuparu's mask- the Mask of Flight. It's a little too close to Levitation. Dr. Bionicle: I'm kinda surprised that a Toa of Earth is getting the Mask of FLIGHT. Bioni-Cool Jack: Yeah. Dr. Bionicle: Because, you know... we've been taught to think of Onu-Toa sort of as underground and like, you know, like in the Archives or Onu-Koro and... this one has the power to fly, which is just an interesting idea for a Toa of Earth. Core Dimension: Maybe he's flying around underground. SPIRIT: That'd be useful- Dr. Bionicle: That's dumb. SPIRIT: -using the mask to get through tunnels. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, but you could also kill yourself, which isn't very useful. SPIRIT: But he has a laser drill- when you have lasers you can't kill yourself. Dr. Bionicle: Well yeah, but when you're going 500 miles an hour- SPIRIT: Well, what Greg says is that the reason he didn't give it to Kongu was because um he didn't want us saying "Aww, boring", "it's just like Levitation", "we hate you", stuff like that. Dr. Bionicle: *chuckles* SPIRIT: Instead he gave it to Nuparu just to be different. Core Dimension: Yeah, flying around in the air, shooting at people with a drill, which doesn't make any sense, but, I mean, that's sort of cool in a way. Dr. Bionicle: Shooting at people with a drill... yeah, that probably hurts a lot. So Jaller's mask, doesn't he describe it as uh like being able to make long jumps or something that other people aren't willing to do or something... SPIRIT: It's like um in the Star Wars movies where um Obi-Wan is like um "let the Force guide you" and where Luke is able to have faster reflexes and... Dr. Bionicle: Ohh... SPIRIT: Like, if you follow Star Wars, it's like having the Force because it gives you enhanced abilities and stuff like that. Core Dimension: I don't get why they call it the Mask of Fate, like what it has to do with fate and luck and all that. Dr. Bionicle: Hmm... the Mask of Luck... I think Matau should have the Mask of Luck, since he's Irish or something. [Clip from Bionicle 2: Legends of Metru Nui] Matau: Hey, Nokama. I see us taking a romantic ride-drive. Nokama: Ha ha, and you believe that Vakama has odd visions? Matau: Huh? [End clip] Dr. Bionicle: You said Hahli's was Detection? Bioni-Cool Jack: Mask of Detection. Dr. Bionicle: So it's kind of like the Akaku, but sort of different? Core Dimension: It's more like radar than like x-ray vision. SPIRIT: Yeah, yeah. Bioni-Cool Jack: It's like Axonn's mask- Truth. SPIRIT: Except for like finding things rather than truth. Dr. Bionicle: Ohh... ahh... that'd be handy. It's kinda like the radar Krana that we saw in the Bohrok, back in 2002. SPIRIT: Sort of. Dr. Bionicle: Somewhat. SPIRIT: Hewkii's mask power seems insanely cool. He's able to take um inanimate objects and telepathically make them into projectiles. Core Dimension: Oh, just inanimate? SPIRIT: I assume. Dr. Bionicle: I guess you could use live people. That wouldn't be very nice, but you could use live people. I think that would have actually fit Kongu better, personally, because doesn't he have a bow and arrow or something? SPIRIT: Yeah, but then that would be kind of redundant. It'd be like shooting arrows and then shooting other things. Dr. Bionicle: That's a good point. Core Dimension: Well my personal favourite is the uh, the last one, the Kanohi Iden. Um... Matoro's astral form. SPIRIT: Yeah, that sounds cool. Especially since it's the Great Mask of SPIRIT. Core Dimension: *sarcastically* Ha ha ha... Dr. Bionicle: Well that leads me to believe that maybe he'll be the one that kinda takes down Zaktan, 'cuz he's capable of doing sort of what Zaktan does, somewhat. SPIRIT: Greg says in um the talkback topic that Nuaparu uses his Mask of Flight with his laser drill to attack Zaktan in uh BIONICLE Legends 3. Dr. Bionicle: That doesn't mean he wins. Kongu's is kinda boring since we've already seen it, but it'd be pretty useful, really, especially with people like Zaktan. SPIRIT: Mhmm. Core Dimension: All the Piraka, really. Dr. Bionicle: Except for maybe like Reidak 'cuz you'd probably just hear like elevator music or something. Everyone: *laughs* Core Dimension: Hey, Reidak's pretty cool. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, he is- Core Dimension: Even though he looks like some kind of evil genius. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, but you know Thok's like always making fun of him 'cuz he doesn't think, which is in BOTH comics. I'm interested in seeing how he's gonna fit them into the storyline. SPIRIT: How do you think, like from what you've seen of the video game trailers, do you think that um the Inika's eye-beam powers are actually their Kanohi powers? Dr. Bionicle: Well it might be possible, but really, it doesn't make sense for some of them. SPIRIT: But for Hewkii, he has like telepathy, and Matoro kind of goes into a ghost form that zooms up to things, so maybe. Dr. Bionicle: It's possible, I guess. What about like Kongu? SPIRIT: Maybe he reads the minds of inanimate objects and then they explode. Core Dimension: *chuckles* Dr. Bionicle: More elevator music. SPIRIT: *laughs* Core Dimension: *starts singing some elevator music* Dr. Bionicle: *laughs* Well yeah, I think we've just about covered that now that we're going into elevator music. SPIRIT: Topic 2: The Skin Contest. Core Dimension: I'm happy with the way that turned out. SPIRIT: Yeah, I am too. I'm glad that the skins that won won, because there were a whole bunch of them that I wanted to pick, and since all these ones won, now I can like choose them whenever I want. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, that's pretty cool. One of the ones that I particularly don't like was the -- Bio.teknik -- one by Stubbed Toa- I mean it's a really good skin, it looks good. I even have the Hapori Tohu wallpaper he made on my desktop- it's that cool. But I think the overall skin is just a little too bright and it would be something- I dunno. It was so bright- Bioni-Cool Jack: Yeah. Dr. Bionicle: I can barely read some of the text. It's a good skin, but it's not something I'd like to come and see day in and day out; so something I could really handle. I thought Violet Tonks' entry was really good, but uh I just thought that it wouldn't be long, really- well it'd be like three years, but still- it would eventually get outdated, which would kind of stink. SPIRIT: Well that's why I didn't vote for any of the uh themed ones because I knew they'd be outdated soon. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah. And like the Le-Koran one was a little too centred to other fans, really. I like like sort of generic ones like Andrew K's. Uh, I voted for Andrew K's uh in particular because it was just nice and well laid back, sort of relaxed. It's like something I could come into and actually see everyday on BZPower, really, and handle. It's more like the old skin, but it's got its own little unique qualities too. SPIRIT: I was going to enter the contest, but I never actually figured out how to open any of the files so that kinda held me back. Dr. Bionicle: I didn't want to embarrass myself, so I didn't enter. All I have is MS Paint. SPIRIT: *chuckles* Dr. Bionicle: Yeah... That kinda would've stunk for an entry. "I call it the 'Noob BZPower!'" Bioni-Cool Jack: *snickers* Sorta original. Dr. Bionicle: There were just too many themed ones, really, in my opinion. Like I would have gone for Than's Unity over Screenguy's entry, personally, just because it's just more generic and it's not something that will only appeal to a certain number of fans or that will be outdated sooner or later. Well which one do you think you'll use when they become available? SPIRIT: I think I'll use the Vahki power one because I've always liked that skin. Bioni-Cool Jack: I'm picking the Voya Nui one. Dr. Bionicle: I uh... I'm probably going to go for the Voya Nui one too by Violet Tonks- that one's just pretty cool, something I can live with for a while. SPIRIT: Topic 3: BBC 33. I thought that um the results for this contest were very cool, but I just didn't have any ideas for entering. Dr. Bionicle: Chloros definitely deserved to win this one. Who did you all vote for? SPIRIT: I... honestly cannot remember. I think it was the one with the green Miru. Dr. Bionicle: Green Miru? Oh, that would be Toa Azteka by -Crossfire-. SPIRIT: Yeahyeahyeahyeahyeah... Bioni-Cool Jack: I didn't vote for any like that. Dr. Bionicle: I voted for Chloros by Toa of Muffins Dracone 'cuz it was just awesome. I'm glad that it won, even if it was by two votes, 'cuz it was just like what a futuristic entry should be- it was very sleek and, you know, streamline sorta. SPIRIT: I liked the transparent elements on it. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, those were good. And the little gravitator whatnots on the thing, that was pretty cool, on the back. Core Dimension: Yeah, the prizes weren't very exciting. Dr. Bionicle: The guy that won third place, Iruini Nuva, with The End of an Age, the big tank thing, was the guy that I lost to in the pre-poll and I'm pretty glad because I was tied with him for a majority of the time and then he kind of burst ahead into a lead that left me in the dust. You were in that poll too, weren't you, Core? Core Dimension: I was upset, yeah, because you two were like totally owning the whole thing. Dr. Bionicle: I'm sorry... That thing took me forever and it really hurt. Core Dimension: That was pretty cool. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah thanks, but it really hurt. I probably should have like worn a helmet or something. Core Dimension: Why? Dr. Bionicle: Or like put some cruddy pixelized thing over my face... People are just scared of my face for some reason. Now what would've been cool is if you'd entered the one you did before. Core Dimension: I know! Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, that one was really cool. Core Dimension: The Propulsion Hypothesis. Two days and I decided to enter it! That was like sitting on my desk for months before I decided to photograph it. Dr. Bionicle: That one like totally owned the one you entered in the BBC. I would've been like smoked if you'd entered that one. Core Dimension: Yeah... I tried to copy it in that entry, but it didn't work very well... Dr. Bionicle: How long did it take to make yours? Core Dimension: It took me the whole entry period, actually, like I just barely got it in on time. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah... I uh did some construction on Operation Cyborg about the first day and the first prototype was done by day three and it was really crummy, it didn't even cover the top of my hand. It didn't go down to my arm, it was just like a little pathetic little wrap with fingers. That was on day three, usually I have like... draft seven by day three, this was draft one. So it took me a long time to get the actual destructor built- that took me about a week or so- and then a lot of it was going into finishing touches. Like before, I didn't have the Bordakh staffs for uh fingers, I had Takanuva staffs, which didn't look nearly as good, and just uh little things that would just make it look cooler and more futuristic and that kind of thing. I entered it... a few hours, I think, before the entry period. Core Dimension: I was like asking all these questions about time zones and everything because I couldn't figure out the time zone it was in. I remembered it was the same time zone as uh... as Cee-estee's in. SPIRIT: Just remember for yours, that it's one hour before everyone else's, except for Dr. Bionicle. Dr. Bionicle: Yep. Central time zone. SPIRIT: The problem with hosting Treespeak on the Air is you have to remember like... thirty time zones so that messes you up- well it messes me up, not you. Core Dimension: Like in BCJ's case, over there it's like three in the morning. Dr. Bionicle: You're like asleep right now. Bioni-Cool Jack: *yawns* Dr. Bionicle: You see? I just woke him up. Bioni-Cool Jack: I have nothing to say about MOCs. Core Dimension: Oh, you're there? Cool. Dr. Bionicle: *chuckles* Go back to your little siesta, it's okay. SPIRIT: Now we're going to start a new series where we look at each individual forum of BZPower and we're going to go from the top down so... we decided not to talk about the Reference Desk because there's not much we could say without being banned. Dr. Bionicle: It's also boring. SPIRIT: Yeah, and it's also boring. *chuckles* So we're going to start with uh New Member Q&A. Core Dimension: It's where all the newbies go. Dr. Bionicle: Well, no. Actually, I think there are more people who are looking to snipe topics go there than actual newbies. That's what I call them, I call the people- there are people who hang out around the New Member Q&A zone like all day, which I call snipers. Little creepy people like Darnzerf and stuff... no offence... SPIRIT: *chuckles* Dr. Bionicle: *chuckles* I know him, he'll forgive me... you know, they just hang out around there and shoot whatever topic they see and then like know the FAQ like back and forward. I Wanted to be prepared for any sort of situation that might come up instantly, because I knew I had a lot of competition to deal with back when I actually cared about being first in the New Member Q&A Forum, 'cuz that's what it's all about over there. So I made a WordPad Document that I put all these URLs in of just all these topics that always come up like the ! Pictures Topic ! and the... just Reference Desk and all that stuff. Bioni-Cool Jack: Yeah. Dr. Bionicle: And I just did that and- Core Dimension: Wow. Dr. Bionicle: And I still have that file open every time that I get on to BZPower so that I can just link to it really quickly. And yet I still get beaten... a lot, 'cuz of the darn colour tag and like my sign off- I always try to come up with a good emoticon and they're usually just a smiley face on both sides so I can pretend to be happy. Core Dimension: My sign off's just a little zero in parentheses. Dr. Bionicle: You know what's interesting? I've seen a lot of people get banned there than I think, really, I've ever expected. You don't really expect a lot of people to be banned in the New Member Q&A Forum... because... you know... it's supposed to be a place where you help new members, but usually, actually, it's a target for a lot of like spam topics like... oh! Oh like "brakelabeesta feed me"! SPIRIT: *laughs* Dr. Bionicle: I remember that. That was a classic banning moment. [Clip from the Burn Stuff PSA] conner slowly: *click* brakelatabasaasta feed me... colon wacko colon... post new topic... *click* I daresay that's the most insightful thing I've ever posted here... banned?! This site sucks! [End clip] Core Dimension: Oh yeah! I built that for BBC. It's brakelatabasaasta. Dr. Bionicle: Whatever! I just say "brakelabeesta" 'cuz it sounds better. Core Dimension: If you think about it, though, that really does sound like the sound your stomach makes. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, it does, which is really creepy. Core Dimension: Well, apparently, even though the post was pretty random, they put a lot of thought into that. SPIRIT: *laughs* Dr. Bionicle: Another one that came out, actually just pretty recently was El Spaniard, who didn't really get banned for spamming, but got banned for basically just constantly uh disrespecting the staff and everything, which I think is interesting that it's actually a kind of common place for people to... break the rules 'cuz it's actually about like reinforcing the rules, kinda... it's kind of ironic. SPIRIT: Yeah, because you'd think they'd like post other places that most people look at like General Discussion or topics where there are like a hundred people uh viewing, like in a news topic or something. Dr. Bionicle: Q&A Topics are the shortest topics ever. Well no, but seriously. Now that Omicron's back... again... modding the forum, it's like you can't even get in there any more. You like read the title and then you click the topic- BOOM it's closed. Just crazy. Core Dimension: *chuckles* Bioni-Cool Jack: Oh yeah. Dr. Bionicle: It's like all the snipers are getting ticked at him and stuff. Core Dimension: Yeah, I- I tracked that forum, but I gave up after a while. I don't really find use like helping new members there. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah. Core Dimension: It's not to be rude or anything... Dr. Bionicle: I do it- I do it in other forums. SPIRIT: Yeah, because you actually get like increase post count and people actually care in the other forums, but they don't care so much in Q&A. Dr. Bionicle: I don't really care about post count or anything. SPIRIT: No, it's not that. It's like people... like they'll see your posts more if you post in things like General Discussion or Storyline & Theories rather than just answer easy questions in Q&A. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, there are just some people that absolutely live there- it's just crazy. They like don't talk about anything else, they just sit in Q&A and watch the topics go by. It's like watching grass grow and then cutting which ever one gets tallest- it's just crazy. Core Dimension: I bet you if I tried more hard, I could get a lot of proto fast- Dr. Bionicle: Did you just say "more hard"? Core Dimension: Same difference! I just might have to kill you for just saying that- grammatically incorrect! ... I think that being a New Member Q&A moderator would be kind of nice, because most of the time you can just sit back and let other people do the work and you get to quote their post and you get to say "thanks... person... topic closed". Bioni-Cool Jack: *snickers* Dr. Bionicle: Omicron like works overtime there. He goes to answer the actual question if he can. SPIRIT: In S&T it's kinda like is it answered or is it not, but in there it's either answered or it's not answered. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah. Core Dimension: What??? Dr. Bionicle: Like in Storyline & Theories, you don't see as many topics closed, really, because sometimes the answer isn't always very clear. SPIRIT: Yeah. Core Dimension: But still, it's a helpful forum. Dr. Bionicle: Yeah, it is. Very good place. SPIRIT: Well, that ends the discussion topic part of the show. Update on the poll: not many votes- not many more votes. Dr. Bionicle: As usual. SPIRIT: If you're listening, you should vote because it's really going to change the show. Like, if you really don't care about trivia questions, then you should like say something. Like if you want us to have a shown down- like an imaginary fight against to characters to see who would win- then tell us that because we want to make the show more interesting. Dr. Bionicle: Besides, we're tired out making up a whole bunch of trivia questions. SPIRIT: Yes... that too... *snickers* That's all for Episode 12 of Treespeak on the Air. I'm SPIRIT. Dr. Bionicle: I'm Dr. Bionicle. Bioni-Cool Jack: I'm Bioni-Cool Jack. Core Dimension: And I'm Core Dimension. [Theme music] [Blooper1] *shake shake shake shake* Core Dimension: That's my hamster. SPIRIT: First animal on Treespeak on the Air. Dr. Bionicle: Well I dunno, SPIRIT's been here since the beginning. Excerpt from "How to Make a Zamor Launcher": OHES NOSE! Dr. Bionicle: Oh right SPIRIT, we have had an animal on the show before. Remember when my sister came in? Same excerpt: OHES NOSE! [Blooper 2] Dr. Bionicle: I think he killed himself- suicidal. SPIRIT: *bursts out laughing* Dr. Bionicle: It wouldn't be the first. I was expecting it for a long time. Somebody was eventually gonna kill themselves because of TotA. [Blooper 3] Dr. Bionicle: Well your name IS Dimension. SPIRIT: Oooo. Core Dimension: It's Dimension, not Demented! SPIRIT: Another guest star insulted on Treespeak on the Air. Dr. Bionicle: He's not a g- well, yes he is. Core Dimension: *chuckles* Dr. Bionicle: Well he's a returning guest star, he should be used to it.
