RAPTOR stands for Rack-And-Pinion Truck OR. (I made up "OR") This is my first rack-and-pinion vehicle. It has 6 wheels. There is a motor in the back powering 2, 2 in the middle for stability, and the last 2 are in the front, and are connect to the R-&-P. A motor controls the R&P mechanism, and a light sensor tells the rcx how to move the motor. There was supposed to be a motor in the front to control the up/down motion of the shovel, and touch sensors to detect when it was up/down, although I never added them or finished the raising/lowering part. There is another motor in the middle, but it doesn't do anything -- it was a mistake in the design. By the time I realized what went wrong, it was to late to fix it. I also never got around to programming it. So, it wasn't actually finished, but I figured out how to build one. You may not be able to read the writing in the picture.
