This is my variation of the Technic 8448 Super Street Sensation. It's basicly the first half of the instructions, then a spattering of the rest. The wheels are the 8466 Off Road's wheels. Both rear axles are driven, with a "spool" driveshaft, ie, no differential between them. The steering the almost exactly the same as the original. The chassis was stretched 4L at the "firewall" to help accomodate the V16. The front and rear bumpers were also widened to accomodate the much larger wheels, and the front wheels now must be held on by 5.5L axles rather than the 3/stud axles on the original. The additional rear axle assembly is basicly a clone of the original rear axle. Only slight modification was needed to allow the driveshaft to reach both. I doubled up the shocks on the front axle due to the increased weight. The cabin area was also blended into the new width at the base. The gullwing doors are practically identical to the original 8448 gullwing doors. I Stretched the hatchback door to cover the doubled-in-size cargo area. Rather than a single motor driving this beast in the original location (under the V8, driving the transmission) I made a "motor node" with 4 electric motors and some electric bricks. This way all of the motors can be driven from the same battery pack. As of right now (January 26, 2006) There are a few U-joints driving into the back of the transmission. However, I managed to break one already by letting off the throttle too suddenly. In the future, I am considering turning this into a 4 door. However, due to its size and the amount of pieces needed, this will have to wait. Feel free to ask any questions. DomiW@aol.com Dom
