Photos of the completed GMLTC Plummer Building Project We started construction on Friday, September 10th. We worked until 3a.m. on Monday the 13th, before calling it quits for the weekend. We went back to Rochester on Saturday, September 25th, and finished it up with another 13+ hour day. GMLTC club members involved with the building are Conan Collopy, Steve Demlow, Abner Finley, John Gerlach, John Kelly, Judy Payne, Stein Settergren and Bill Toenjes. We also want to thank ALL the volunteers - especially all the kids! - who came by and helped us during the building. The building was primarily designed by Steve Demlow, the tower top was designed by John Gerlach. Steve put in over 150 hours of MLCAD design time, John put in about 25 hours of MLCAD design time. From the base to the top of the tower is just over 7 feet. Including the base the height is over 7 1/2 feet. We have no idea how much it weighs, the Mayo Clinic had to use a forklift to get it where it is now! We estimate the model has between 55,000 and 60,000 LEGO pieces, in around a dozen different colors, mostly tan. These images are all scaled to around 640x480 resolution, if for some reason you want the full-sized image drop me an email. The GMLTC wants to thank Jake McKee and The LEGO(r) Company for their support with this project, we couldn't have done it without their bricks! We also want to thank the Rochester Neighborhood Resource Center (http://www.rneighbors.org) for getting us involved with this project, and for taking such good care of us while we were down there! The completed model will be on permanent display in one of the Mayo Clinic buildings. Currently it's in the Siebens Building, but that could change in the future.
