Community Contest #1: Crevasse The robot takes a bridge to cross the crevasse. It’s remotely controlled. Because my power motors are built in my other bots (for the RoboCup Junior), I had to use the old motors, so the translation is very high (each time to worm gears on a 24 teeth gear). 1. At the beginning the bridge is placed against the bot 2. Then the bot starts driving forward 3. The difference in the height between the wheels is as big as the height of the bridge, so it can climb the bridge easily 4. After crossing the bridge it drives a bit reverse until the stopper touches the bridge, so that it can’t glide below the bot 5. Therefore the motor spins the spool, stretches the string and slowly lifts the bridge 6. The bridge has a flap mechanism, so it’s easier to heighten, because the weight is nearer to the axe 7. When the bridge is vertical, the work is done As you can see in the pictures the bot manages about 40cm! Franz Steinmetz Username: FranzlInventor www.roboshow.de.vu
