This is my gap crosser for the first lego mindstorms community contest. max distance acheived is 140 cm (i dont know that in inches, but all developed countries use metric, anyway ^_^) Anyho, i havent had time to go through and name the pics, but they give a pretty good idea how it works. the last few (30 - 37) show the crossing sequence, which is as follows: 1. start with bridge upright 2. drop bridge 3. cross gap 4. pull bridge accross afterwards its supposed to just pull the bridge off the other side, and swing vertical (pics 38 - 41) show that it can actually hold istelf vertically, i just didnt have 2 places high enough so that it would touch the ground in between ^_^ its robustness is HUGE because it drops the bridge from vertical to horizontal, and still doesnt break! anyho, thats it. it only works on one switch (on/off) so no program. the end!
