Name: Orbiter Builder: ACruceSalus Type: Discus Bot Max Distance: 28in Min Distance: 25in Average Distance: 27in Orbiter throws a CD by spinning around and releasing the CD. At the same time Orbiter also spins the CD itself. To provide Orbiter with enough power to spin itself, four motors are geared together so as to share the work of spinning Orbiter. Also, the four motors are powered by a battery box which allows them to draw as much current as they need. Orbiter's claw is powered by pneumatics, which I pump by hand, and is controlled by a motor plugged into the RCX. Another motor spins the CD. The Manas unit was required because my brothers and I only have six motors. The Manas unit is controlled by the RCX and presses the button on the battery box making Orbiter spin. The other motor in the Manas unit was intended to pump the pneumatics but it proved to be to much work for the motor. A touch sensor is used to tell Orbiter when to close it's claw and start throwing. It was amazing how well this bot came together. I'm sure God helped me make it. ACruceSalus
