Designed at first as a special ops unit the relatively low cost of this design enabled production to standard equipment levels over 5,000 of these suits have been constructed to date with the highest proportion (400 suits) goin to the Blacktron 1st Armored Infantry. Superb urban and insurgency/counter insurgency fighters, Thief units ar less effective on the open battlefield where they are outranged and outsped by almost all heavier units. During Blacktron campaigns on the M:Tron planet of Albion, M:Tron officers described meeting Thieves in urban combat as being mugged as the attacker would appear from nowhere take out as much of your equipment as possible then dissapear again.
