Long ago our land was whole. Nanyi-nui, or The Great Forest, was home to many Na-koronans, their one leader Shakiki and their only Toa Naed. Nanyi-Nui was known for its lush and beautiful forests and its river delta, to which Na-koro was located West of. Toa and matoran would travel from the great continent to relax with the humble Na-koronans from war and fighting. Not long ago, Naed, Nanyi-nui's only Toa, was appointed a job from his turaga, whom at the time seemed worried with fear. She told Naed to go to the Isles of Ssom, rivers which flowed through a sandy and harsh desert, to collect a map from the local turaga, who also at the time seemed anxious. When Naed had gotten himself together, he left for Nanyi-nui, not knowing he would never see the people of Ssom ever again... At the time, Naed was crossing the border of Ssom and the larger half of where Voya-nui once was connected to the Great Continent, many thousands of years ago. Naed was then thrust to the ground when the earth split in two. Staggering to his feet, Naed used his power over the plants to carry himself to the other side of the ravine, barely missing the shockwaves from the quake. From the height at which he was, Naed could now see that the Great Continent, home to many, was now divided into several pieces. Getting himself back down to the land, Naed staggered home to Nanyi-nui to see if it was still intact. Getting home Naeds worst fears had come true. Nanyi-nui was no more. Its pristine forests and tree houses were demolished and rahi killed. With the many trees flattened and the tide coming in, Nanyi-nui was beginning to flood. There were no sign of the Turaga or the Matoran. The clan of the trees was now beginning to go under the sea. Just at that moment, something glistened in the corner of Naed's eye. It was Shakiki's Naedo staff, from which Naed was named after, meaning small forest. When Naed picked up the turaga sized staff, it grew one or two feet to a more suitable size for Naed. The staff itself has no powers, but luckily for Naed he could already control his elment without the help of a weapon. Seeking for help, Naed travelled south via vegetation. In his experience Naed has used his element not only for travelling, but to save his island from attacks from rahi attacks and in recent wars overseas. His mask is in the shape of a Kau Kau and has the powers of a Sanok, giving the user the ability to hit any target with any object he uses. South of Nanyi-nui lies Shosa Nui, Great Coral, home to the Coral clan. Here he met Marotu, female toa who could not only control electricity, but could slightly control water as she was trained in the ways of the Coral clan who had powers of water. Her home was also desroyed in the great cataclysm, with all but her dying.
