Once the Clone Wars broke out on Geonosis, Aratech showed the Republic what it could do with their new 74-Z speeder bikes, able to take down CIS Tank Droids(and also, if the pilot failed to slow down, crashing full-speed into an AAT could destroy both vehicles in a burst of flame. By request of the Galactic Senate to provide more vehicles by all the vehicle manufacturers throughout the Mid-Rim through the Core, choosing from Rothana Heavy Engineering, Kuat Drive Yards, Mekuun, Uulshos, and of course, Aratech. Aratech, who specialized in speeders, provided battlefields with new ISP swamp speeders and their best overall product next to the 74-Z, the IRVs. A one man speeder, their first product, the INFANTRY REPULSORLIFT VEHICLE-LANTUOS 50 was a favorite of Clone Officers such as Mabur, Iota, and Neyo because of it's ups and downs. It was unshielded on the sides, like the 74-Z, but had more shielding on the front than the 74-Z. Another advantage of the IRV was the good back posture it provided to it's pilot by putting in a seat. Overall, the IRV was put in about 3050 battles(About 1/3 of them were to retake a planet). Near the end of the Clone Wars, complaints were coming from more Clone Troopers,(Most, not experienced pilots) that the senate issued a statement about 70% of Clones died by blaster hits directly in the forehead. Aratech either had to give up their licsencse, or make improvements to the model. Thus, the IRV-S-E60 was made. The INFANTRY REPULSORLIFT VEHICLE-[SECURITY*]-EPSILON 60 was the overall best of their scout speeders. It contained one of the newer Epsilon Cockpit Shields, which included the first speeder targeting computer, and a switch that could adjust the Cockpit shield leaning up, or in normal place. But when Aratech asked Palpatine whether or not it should include side-shields, Palpatine refused, as he did with many other Imperial/Republic End Vehicles. It served in only 45 battlefields before the Clone Wars ended, but was able to destroy 40% of the Jedi during the Jedi Purge(40% by walkers, and 20% by Orbital Bombardment, Troop attacks, or Other. Nobody is truly sure, as Holonet archives were erased, and all records of the Clone Wars and Jedi Purge were lost.). It took the position of the AT-RT, controlling the crowds during Imperial parades, escorting IFT-X vehicles on battlefields, scouting out positions, and taking out gun-sleds, T-47 Speeders, and small attack vehicles. It was put to use in the Battle of Hoth, although it's reasons were of unknown.
