Mata Nui is an island of many mysteries. The Swarms of Bohrok are a mystery of Mata Nui that may never be solved. We may never know why these occurances happen. But we can observe them, and that is my job. My name is Takua. I am a Ta-Koronan that has seen many queer sights. My job is to record— to chronicle— the events that happen, so that future generations can understand what a mysterious world we lived in. One of the strangest, and definitely unnatural events happened in Onu-Koro, during the time of the Swarms… We had been fighting hard, trying to defend our island from these frightening, bug-like creatures for weeks. I had been summoned to Onu-Koro to see the invention of Nuparu, a fellow Matoran. He called his creation a Boxor, a one-manned fighting vehicle to help retaliate against the swarms. I could vaguely see the full moon shining through a hole in the top of the cavern. It was almost the beginning of the new day, or the "lightbreakspready", as the Le-Koronans called it. This wasn't any new day, however, it was Whakamataku. We celebrated Whakamataku, or Spirit's Night once every year. This was the time we carved special masks out of the brightest woods, and wore them, in order to scare off evil spirit minions of Makuta that might be following us. However, this was the first Whakamataku we had celebrated since the coming of the Toa, and, the Bohrok. Nuparu had just finished showing me the extra cooling capabilities on his vehicle, when we felt a rumble. Nuparu, who was more used to the underground life, hollered down the echoing tunnels, "Nuhvok attack!" I panicked, glancing around quickly. Then, to my horror, I saw something. In the darkness, no more than a Bio away, were two pairs of glowing green eyes wandering slowly towards me. The eyes spotted me, and out of the shadows walked a Nuhvok and Nuhvok Va, or a "tunnel fox", as the Onu-Koronans called them. The Nuhvok raised its mighty hammer shields, and as if to scare me even more, shattered a hole in the ceiling, letting moonlight shine onto the Bohrok and Va. The two stood there, frozen. Suddenly, by some power, their limbs, eyes, and krana began to change. These all black creatures became almost striped with orange. Their orange eyes glowed fiercely. The creatures hadn't changed much, but their attitude did. The Nuhvok simply stared at me, and gave out a comical "Muahahaha." I stared at it. Minutes before, this creature had been ready to shatter my head and my mask, and now, it was "muhaha"ing at me? The Bohrok Va looked up at the Bohrok, like a child staring at its mother, and gave a small "Mueeheeheehee." I shook my head in disbelief. This was just amazing. I stared at the two for a moment, and asked them, as if I would get an answer, "Can you say anything else?" The Bohrok and Va exchanged glances, then both said "Boo-boo-boo. Muahaha-boo-muahaha-boo. Muahaha-boo." Then, in a flash, I remembered. It was Whakamataku! I pulled my mask out of my pack, and put it on. The Bohrok and I began to dance around, singing "Muahaha" and "Boo-mueehee". I decided to name these alternate forms of Nuhvok, Boohrok, after their hilarious calls. As I was walking back home to Ta-Koro, I realized what a great message was in that meeting. That encounter with the Boohrok left me the wisdom that no matter what species you are, no matter if you are allies or enemies, you can always have fun.
