1.Did you get any inspiration to do the Paracosmos? 1) Sure--one of the main inspirations was just how much I loved Bionicle to begin with, and roleplaying stories and I my little brother used to play out with the sets. The basic concept of The Sword is but the Focus, for example, was played out as roleplaying. I just have a relentless imagination, too, and since I want to be a writer someday, I figured actually writing these things out as stories would be a good way to practice, and to get feedback from real people, see what aspects of my writing work well, what doesn't, etc. Another thing that I had always personally wished that 2001 and other years could have lasted longer, but since there's no way to do that in the real world, I chose to explore that through fanfics. Also a way to work MOCs in, as with many people. I was certain, though, early on that I needed to have something different about these fanfics, some reason that all these other stories and MOCs aren't in the official story, and eventually I decided on the idea of a Paracosmos, that actually is one in the story, and that this fact causes all sorts of problems for the characters they have to deal with. 2.Now for the masks, where did you get the names? where they made up? 2) With the mask names, like most of the other names, I used several methods to invent names. Originally, back in 2001, I just made up random words that sounded like Bionicle. That's how I came up with "Kanoka" for that character, incidentally; I actually invented it before LEGO used it, ironically, lol. Some of the mask names are like that. Others I came up with later based on the idea that Greg had said is a good basic way to get a feel for whether a name would actually get through LEGO legal; type in that kind of cool name in Google, and see if each one comes up with any results. Those that have less results are more original and unique; especially if you get no hits! Some of the mask names are like that too, though that's mainly for newer characters. 3.Is there any plan to continue the BP series? 3) Yep--right now it's just being held up because storywise, the RPG has to be finished before the next epic can really start. It's taken a lot longer to do the RPG than planned, because of real world stuff getting in the way. Right now it's close to being done, and the next level, the Le-Koro level, is about halfway done, though college classes are once again slowing it down. But yes, the BP will include many more epics/short stories, and the whole story arc up until the very end has already been planned out. A few of the key epics in the future have been specifically planned out, and one of them has actually been totally written (I think it's my favorite so far; believe me I can't wait to put it up when it's time!). 4.How long will BP go? 4) How long in the real world? Hard to say about that. In terms of how much of the Bionicle storyline it will follow, my plans are that at some point, the storyline will deviate in some major ways from the official storyline (as a direct result of it being a Paracosmos), and that will be essentially the end of the BP. That is planned to begin along with the 2006 storyline, roughly, and span the whole 2006-2008 arc. I'm not ruling out, though, that if Bionicle keeps going, I won't still include a few stories after that, since the BP as a universe will still be around (though I won't reveal in what state yet, lol). Those would just be extras though, not part of the main arc.
