The Grizzly Flats was the narrow gauge backyard railroad of Ward Kimball, one of Walt Disney's "9 Old Men" animators. Kimball was famous for his part in such major films as Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and Pinocchio. The Kimball family began their railroad collection with the purchase of a passenger car from the Carson and Colorado Railroad and would eventaully include the Emma Nevada, a Baldwin 2-6-0; the Chloe, an 0-4-2T that belonged to the Waimanalo Sugar Company; and various pieces of narrow gauge rolling stock. The Chloe was named for Kimball's youngest daughter.
