General Information
The Bionicle Mask Competition is operated and promoted by:
Eidos Interactive Limited (referred to in these Rules as "Eidos", "we", "us" or similar expressions)

Important Notice
PLEASE READ THESE COMPETITION RULES ("RULES") CAREFULLY. By submitting an entry to the Bionicle Mask Competition (the "Competition") you agree to accept and be bound by these Rules and the terms of all policies referred to in these Rules.
Eidos reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any stage if deemed necessary in Eidos' opinion and if circumstances arise which are outside of Eidos' control.
1. Who may enter?
1.1 The Competition is open to children who on August 24th 2006 are aged 16 years or younger and who are permanent residents in a Qualifying Country which permits online participation in competitions. The Competition is void in any Qualifying Country where the Competition is prohibited. Where you are ineligible to enter the Competition, you may submit a Mask Design but you will not be eligible for a prize.
A "Qualifying Country" means (a) the United Kingdom, Isle of Man and the Channel Islands (b) any other member state of the European Union as at 1 July 2006 and (b) Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
1.2 You must have the permission of your parent or guardian before you enter the Competition and send us your personal details.
1.3 The Competition is not open to employees, directors or other officers of Eidos, LEGO, Traveller's Tales, TT Games or their respective affiliates, agents, media partners and suppliers, or the children of any of the aforementioned.
1.4 In order to enter the Competition you will need to provide your name and address together with the telephone and valid email address of your parent or legal guardian.
1.5 You may be disqualified from the Competition if we have reasonable grounds to suspect that you are in breach of these Rules or your participation in the Competition is fraudulent or otherwise unlawful.
2. How do you enter?
2.1 You must create a design of a Bionicle Mask (a "Mask Design") on the Bionicle Mask Website ( www.BIONICLEComp.com) (the "Site") which you would like to see included in the BIONICLE Heroes (the "Game"). The design must be created using the design parameters present on the Site (such as colour palettes, choices of facial features) and, as such, is subject to the design constraints set by such parameters. Once your design is completed, you must choose a fictional name for the mask (the "Mask Name") and in order for your Entry to be registred you must forward your Mask to a friend before submitting your Entry. Then submit the Mask Design and Mask Name together with your completed personal information required in the Competition Entry Form on the Site (an "Entry"). No other method of Entry (such as post) will be accepted.
2.2. The Competition will start on August 4th 2006 and will close at 11.59 pm on August 24th 2006 (London, England time) (the "Closing Date"). All Entries received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
2.3 No purchase is necessary as a condition of Entry.
2.4 Eidos accepts no responsibility for any Entry which is incorrect, incomplete or inaccurate.
2.5 Eidos is not responsible for any Entries which are not received for any reason, lost, distorted in transmission or which are otherwise illegible or are otherwise defective. All such Entries will not be accepted.
2.6 Eidos does not guarantee that the Site will be available at all or at any time(s) during the period that Entries may be submitted and will not be responsible for any technical failure or other problems in any internet connection, system, service provider or otherwise which results in an Entry not being properly processed or received.
2.7 No receipt or acknowledgement of Entry will be provided and Eidos shall not be required to provide any proof of receipt.
3. Prize
3.1 There will be only 1(one) winner prize
3.2 Details of the prize are as follows:
Winner First Prize: The winning Mask Design will be featured as a mask in the Game in all formats on which it is released. The manner and extent to which the Mask Design is used in the Game shall be at Eidos' absolute discretion. Where practicable, the winner's name, their mask name, age and country of residency will also be included in the "in-game" credits for the Game (the location, position and size of which shall be at our absolute discretion and we shall not liable to you for any inadvertent errors or inaccuracies in any such credit). We may use the Mask Name given by you to describe the Mask Design in the Game but reserve the right, in our discretion, to use a different name for the Mask Design. In addition the winner will receive a gold BIONICLE mask..
3.3 The winner will be selected by a panel (the "Panel") of three judges appointed by Eidos (which panel may include Eidos employees). The names of the Panel will not be disclosed. The decision of the Panel is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
3.4 There is no cash alternative to the prizes and Eidos reserves the right to substitute any prize with any another of equivalent value.
3.5 Prizes are not transferable and may not be exchanged for any other prize.
4. Notification of Winning Entry
4.1 The Winner of the Competition will be notified by e-mail or post (to the address given in the Competition Entry Form) within 28 (twenty eight) days after the Closing Date.
4.2 As a condition of the winner being able to claim the Prize, we may require the parent or legal guardian of the winner to sign an agreement with us on the winner's behalf (the "Parental Agreement") confirming that (i) the winner meets the eligibility requirements of the Competition and has otherwise complied with the Rules and (ii) consenting to (a) the use of the winner's name in the in-game credits of the Game as referred to in Rule 3.3 above and (b) the use of the winner's Mask Design and Mask Name in and in relation to the Game in accordance with the terms of the Rights granted and assigned to us in Rule 6 below. In the event that (a) the winner cannot be contacted within 14 days of the first date on which we tried to contact the winner or (b) having made such contact, the Parental Agreement is not signed and returned to us in accordance with our instructions within 14 days of our request, we reserve the right, in our discretion, to disqualify the winning Entry and to choose an alternative Entry as the winner in their place.
4.3 The name of the winner[s] will be posted on the Site for a period of six months after the winner[s] have been decided and their prizes claimed. By entering the Competition you consent to our use of your name, country of residence and age for promotional purposes.
5. Additional Entry Rules
5.1 Mask Names must not be names of real persons living or dead.
5.2 Mask Designs must by your own original work and not copied, in whole or in part, from any other work.
5.3 Joint Entries will not be accepted.
5.3 No words may be included in any Mask Designs.
5.4 Mask Designs (or any substantially similar thereto) which have already been shown or published elsewhere or accepted for another competition are also ineligible.
6. Confirmations and Rights
6.1 By entering the Competition you confirm to us that (a) you are the sole author of the Mask Design (b) you have not entered the Mark Design or anything substantially similar thereto in any other competition or exhibition (c) you have not and will not otherwise publish the Mask Design, and (d) the Mask Name is fictitious and is not the name of any real person, living or dead.
6.2 By submitting an Entry, you agree that your Mark Design and all worldwide copyright and other intellectual property rights therein will become the sole property of Eidos.
6.3 You irrevocably assign and agree to assign to Eidos for no additional consideration all right, title and interest (including but not limited to worldwide copyright and all other intellectual property rights) in and to the Mask Design and Mask Name. Without prejudice to the foregoing, you irrevocably agree that we may exclusively make use of, develop, copy, reproduce, modify, adapt, manufacture, market, promote, distribute, publish, sell, transmit, broadcast, display, exhibit, project and otherwise exploit the Mask Design (whether or not it is the winning design) as part of or in relation to the Game in any and all media (and in any and all formats as we may decide) and in any manner we choose and in any associated advertising, trailers, demonstration versions, strategy guides, promotional materials and merchandise throughout the world without any limitation of time.
6.4 You further irrevocably agree that we may modify the Mask Design and/or Mask Name in any way which we choose (including but not limited by changing colours or configuration, making deletions or additions). To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, you irrevocably and unconditionally waive all so-called “moral rights” (including without limitation any right to object to derogatory treatment of a copyright work or any right of attribution) relating to the Mask Design to which you are or may in the future be entitled pursuant to any legislation or laws now existing or in future enacted in any part of the world.
6.5 You understand and agree that you will not be paid for your Mask Design and/or Mask Name or for granting and/or assigning to Eidos any of the rights granted and/or assigned by you to Eidos in or to the Mask Design and Mask Name. In addition, by submitting your Mask Design you agree to waive all claims to and shall receive no royalties of any kind now or in the future from Eidos or any third party for or as a result of the use of the Mask Design and Mask Name in the Game or otherwise.
6.6 In relation to the rights, licences and confirmations made, granted and assigned to us under these Rules you further irrevocably agree that the rights, licences, agreements and confirmations are each made and granted for the benefit of Eidos, its licensees, successors and assignees and may be assigned, sub-contracted and otherwise dealt with by us in our absolute discretion. You undertake (at the expense of Eidos) to do any and all acts and execute any and all documents in such manner and at such location as may be required by Eidos in its sole discretion to protect, perfect or enforce any of the rights granted or confirmed to Eidos pursuant to these Rules.
7. Your Privacy
We will only use your personal information to administer the Competition but may use the winners' names and any photographs provided for promotional publicity purposes. Please see our Privacy Policy for further details. By submitting an Entry you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.
8 Limitation of Liability
8.1 By entering the Competition you accept that the Game may never be completed, released or exploited to any extent. Accordingly, Eidos shall not be liable to you under any circumstances in respect of any claim for loss of opportunity.
8.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, Eidos excludes all warranties, representations and conditions (express or implied, statutory or otherwise) and liability regarding the Competition or the Prize[s] (other than liability for death or personal injury caused by Eidos' negligence).
8.3 Without prejudice to Rule 8.2 to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Eidos shall not be liable to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or otherwise for loss of profits, goodwill, damage to reputation, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated revenues , loss of opportunity or any type of special, indirect or consequential loss (including loss or damage suffered by the other as a result of an action brought by a third party), even if such loss was reasonably foreseeable or it had been advised of the possibility of you incurring such loss.
8.4 Some states or jurisdictions may not allow the limitation or exclusion of certain warranties or conditions and where that is the case and to such extent the exclusions and limitations in these Rules may not apply to you. Your statutory rights are not affected.
9. Law and Jurisdiction
These Rules and each Entry shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law and you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

You can also choose one of the tattoos, to decorate your mask, from the box on the right. 4. If it’s all gone wrong and you’re not happy with your mask (or you’re feeling a bit lazy!) you can randomise your mask. 5. When you’re happy with your design, send the mask onto your friends, to show them what a great job you’ve done and to enter the competition. Don’t forget, the more friends you send it to, the more chances to win! 6.
