I wanted to make as compact as possible skid-steer Mindstorms base, this is the best I came up with, a very small 'footprint', minimal parts and gearing, and conventionally skid-steerable due to slip-fitting of diagonally opposite track wheels. The first pic shows the basic unit fitted with standard double bumpers.
