+ About it:

I was browsing Lego Factory looking for ideas and decided to 
make a railroad crane. My main inspiration was memories of a HO 
scale crane that I have... somewhere. It came out pretty well 
for only having my thoughts, I didn't bother to look online for 
real ones. There was a point where I had to decide whether to 
use a custom built chassis or use a standard Lego chassis. I 
decided to use the standard since this was a more basic model. 
The "hook" is as strong as the connections. With a bit of 
modification a string can be added. As a Factory model, I made 
it so that even if you don't have string (or aren't good with 
Legos), you can still have a functional crane. Using a string 
will make it stronger. The crane locks in two positions on the 
roof of the cab. I added the gondola to hold whatever small 
things the crane might pick up and it adds to the overall model.
