This is my forth attempt at a Lego excavator, when I get some time, I will upload my first attempt, the difference is startling. Any way, its modeled somewhat after a CAT 330B. However, the color scheme is not the same. I don’t have enough bricks to make it that way. The tracks and bucket came from an old toy excavator I got when I was 7. Tracks are driven by two old type 9v. Technic motors on two gear reductions and a work gear. It has so much power, that I’ve broken about 5 gears in its lifetime. Its downside is that Lego doesn’t make any big cylinders so there a little out of scale, and that’s why I needed three to lift the arm + any load up in the air. Model needs so much air pressure to work that I couldn’t use a Lego air compressor on it. The model weighs in at 4.2 pounds, not including the remote control unit.
