HOW DID I GET THE IDEA ---------------------- I went to visit Reno, NV last year during a week end. I stayed at the Circus Circus Casino (www.circusreno.com). The hotel consist of two buildings distant of approximatelly 600 ft from each other. They are linked together by an automated shuttle train. There is two different tracks with one car on each track. The cars are pulled by a cable, pulleys and engines. During my week end, I took this shuttle for appromately 20 times, to go the parking lot, the casino, the restaurants, the room etc... So I had plenty of time to observe how does it work and I wondered: "Hey, I can do that in Lego!" FURTHER WAY TO WORK AROUND -------------------------- There are many ways this shuttle train can be improved. Maybe I'll work around to get some done but that is not my priority for right now. * The RCX can be programmed to play a song whenever the shuttle is on motion. * An adjustable pulley to restrech the cable when it's untrech. It can include a spring system. * Add a curve to the track. Some wheels will have to be inserted on the curved track to guide the cable. This seems to be a major redevelopment and I honestly didn't think further about how can it be made. Seems to be real problematic since the car will have to pass thru the cable guiding wheels.
