Midi Series

I love all things that fly, and have spent considerable time (and money) on a minifig 
scale F-22 and SR-71.  While these are fun to build, they are too big and awkward for 
my son to play with and he often asks what is the point of making them then! So true...

There are a number of Mini's that are built and I marvel at how good some of those look, 
but a bit small and sometimes you have to compromise a little too much.  

So I have started to develop a Mid-Sized model that is approx half-minifig scale, 
hence the Midi-Series.  I have found this a good scale to work in and surprised 
I haven't seen many others in this space.  I started doing a lot of my favourite 
aircraft and in the end seem to have a pretty good representation of various aircraft 
styles from a number of regions.  The key in this scale is to ensure the aircraft is 
readily identifiable, so I am avoiding too many aircraft that might look a bit the same.

Build notes:

The models are currently built to fly, not land, as in this scale it is hard to do 
retractable undercarriage though stick-on wheels will be an add-on.  I am also developing 
Weapon Packs that can be loaded depending on whether you have to do a Air Support, 
Ground Attack, or Multi-role.  Avilable colours for aircraft are dependent on what I 
have to work with, so TLC, how about some Light Bley curved slopes!!!

All have MLCad files and I am currently generating instructions.  As much as I would 
like to give these away, it would be good to have some income to support my obsessing 
lego hobby, so email me and I'll see what can be done.

I would love to set up a stand at an Airshow to see what sort of interest a range 
like this would generate.  If TLC do sets like this, I will be miffed.


What's Next
-----------
I will be adding to the above list with some more Eastern Block aircraft like the 
SU-27 and you can never have too many swing-wing aircraft, so there will probably 
be some sort of 'Top Gun' moment.

I would also love to do a WWII Series and have early plans on a Lancaster, but 
some of the fighters look pretty hard in this size.  Not giving up tho!
