Minifig Collector Series Battle Of Endor Set My fav ships from the Star Wars Universe attempted in minifig scale (1 stud/foot) while going for the accuracy worthy of a UCS, hence the MCS term. I currently have some of the ships from the Battle of Endor as I decided to do the Tie Int first as it is an all time favourite. I am working on a Tie Adv so there will also be the Battle of Yavin shortly. Credit to Bruce Lowell for some inspiration on the X-Wing fuselage, and to Lowlead on Brickshelf for ideas on the wings on the Interceptor. They have undergone a number of changes and upgrades and will probably continue to do so for some time to come. I want to reproduce the Ties in the light blue gray, which I think is a more accurate colour based on the photos of the original models. Not sure why Lego keep producing Ties in black and dark blue??? Highlights include: X-Wing "Red 2" Ensignia - Retractable Landing Gear (V3 on rear, though still needs work) - Storage compartment under cockpit - Full Droid slot/enclosure - Proton Torpedo Tubes - Cockpit Targeting Computer - Brand new fighter shown (in white) with no battle damage, will probably be doing an 'aged' version shorlty Y-Wing "Gold Leader" ***Still Under Construction*** - Retractable Landing Gear - Full Droid slot/enclosure - Proton Torpedo Tubes - Cockpit Targeting Computer - greeble heaven Tie Interceptor - Top Ingress Hatch - Twin Ion Engines and Solar Ionization Reactor - Fabritech Sensor Array - Needed reinforced Wing Attachment Pylons (which ended up square) Tie Fighter - Top Ingress Hatch - Twin Ion Engines and Solar Ionization Reactor - Fabritech Sensor Array - Circular Wing Attatchment Pylons Tie Advanced ***Under Construction*** Build notes for each model will be in their respective directories on Brickshelf. All are designed to be played with (swooshable) and have undergone an extensive R&D program with a bunch of 8 year-olds. A number of changes have been made to improve their sturdiness and swoosh-factor and all have solid hold points for playing. I may do more accurate (read:fragile) models in future for display only and already have modified X-Wing wings for this purpose. Ldraw files should be available soon and as much as I would love to do a kit of these for sale, I'm not sure what legal wrath that may generate so you will probably just have to put up with my crappy ldraw files. Please credit any inspirations you gain from these and happy building. All feedback welcome to my email below. regards, David Low dateman@optusnet.com.au Copyright all respective owners.
