Setup: - Create a (non-linear) board use 4x.. plates with 2x2 jumpertiles to form a path (length about 30 to 40 tiles). - Add start and finish tiles. - Place arrows. - Place obstacles/objects pairs (door/key, tree/axe, spiderweb/fire, rock/hammer, ...). Make sure the object can be reached before the corresponding obstacles. - Place monsters (goblins, scorpions, ...). Gameplay: - On each turn, the player rolls a classic d6 dice to move in any direction. - When finishing a movement on an arrow, follow the arrrow. - When passing on a tile with an object you may take the object. - Tiles with an obstacle block the way unless the player has the corresponding object, in which case the obstacle is removed. - Tiles with monsters block the way. To fight a monster, roll a dice for the monster. If the player rolls a higher or equal number, the monster is removed. Tricks and variations: - Arrows >< = endless pit, go to start. - Arrows <<<<<< (5x) to create difficult passages - Long arrows to create shortcuts. - Multiple monsters: either several one-on-one combats or combine two or more dice against one player's dice. - Boss monsters wielding two or three dice - Weapon: attack dice +1, shield: monster dice -1 - Losing a fight: go to start or lose a life (4 lives to start with) - Chained objects wood/axe and river/wood - Objects required to enter parts of the board (fire needed for caves) - ...
