This is the robot I used for a Maze Rover contest between me and some friends. The task was to build robots who would be able to drive through a maze on their own, no IR or tethered control allowed. If interested in contest rules/details, E-mail me, the adress is on my userpage. 1. The bumper worked perfect, at least in the controlled enviroment of the maze. Itīs very sensitive! Whenever it hit a wall, it backed for 0,3 sec. and should turn 90 deg. to the right. 2. My robot was programmed to see the black lines on the floor of the maze with the lght sensor on the back. 0,3 sec. after seeing a black line, it stopped and the arm with the touch sensor moved left to feel after a wall. If there was a wall, it drove on. If not, it should turn 90 deg. to the left, but sometimes the treads slipped on the masonite maze floor... 3. I had Anakin Skywalker driving the robot, but he only drove to a 2nd place... 4. The opponents; the one in top got the 3rd place and the one in the bottom was the winner, sad to say, it was the only robot who found the way out of the 3 different mazeīs... 5. a photo of a part of the 2nd maze, there was 3 in all, 2 heats in each.
