Iron Mecha Entry - January 2006 My interpretation of the Iron Mecha competition was a bit different than I had originally envisioned. First off, I had already decided on Sand Blue as the main color. Truth be told, this was supposed to be a Sand Blue and White model, but I just did not like how it was turning out. Bryce McGlone suggested Sand Green as the companion color (thinking I was using Dark Blue, not Sand Blue) and the rest fell into place. Relevant info regarding this entry: 1) My first 90+% Sand-colored model 2) Studless by design 3) Certain aspects were purposely exaggerated (knees, torso, arms) 4) Made to look very 'techie' until the organic element is exposed 5) Who said that was supposed to be a missle launcher? ;) 6) Fewest number of black parts I've ever built with (7-all technic pins). None are visible. This model was started in my workshop, but finished in a much smaller build area with a very limited number of parts available to me. This is why the lower half looks so much more 'polished' than the torso and arms. Also, note that the rear feet are different from the front...I just couldn't locate the needed parts. D'oh! -Dave
