XBR-14, also knows as "Harlequin" was made by the now infamous Studbraquer Corporation, the manufacturing was discontinued due to low demand, it was however one of the first commercial space vessels fitted with the now so popular Sub-Kwark engine. This fact and the low prices have made this ship very popular on the after market. The XBR-14 was aimed at, in that time flourishing executive market, but the economical decline in the Federation area made this ship too expensive for the majority of the expected buyers. There is very few ships left in original state, most of the remaining ships has undergone heavy modifications to fit in the modern space traffic. The "Harlequin" is also very popular amongst space pirates, with relatively low cost the engines can be modified and almost double the speed of the ship. Although this is very tempting it's a dangerous game since the integral structure of the Kwark-chamber receptacle is altered and this is a vital part of the engine. Several "unexplained" disintegrations of XBR-14 believed to have been cased by this. Modern Kwark engines has a completely different design which prevents alternations of the engine. The XBR-14 got its nickname from the original color scheme of the ship and was called harlequin by the general public.
