The XP-78g "Wrath of God" Named for the destructive capability of the GWEN engines. These engines can project a gravity well to any point in 3-D space, within range. This gravity well can be of any intensity or any size (two related characteristics). Common uses of the gravity well are propulsion (self- propulsion and assistance), defensive purposes, and weaponry. The Wrath carries no offensive ordinance, relying instead on the Gwen engines. It is interesting to note that three GWEN engines are necessary to determine the exact point at which the well will generate. If only two engines are functioning, the gravity well may appear any place that fits the distance information given to the targeting computer (eg--on any point of a circle a certain distance from the engine). If only one engine is functioning, the well may generate at any point on a sphere a certain distance from the engine. For this reason, the XP-78g carries four engines, mounted on the front of the ship for maximum propulsion efficiency. The gravity well, if properly maintained, can accelerate the Wrath well past the speed of light, utilizing the "dark matter" properties of gravity to transcend the laws of physics.
