(Bummer Lugnet doesn't have instant gratification for new users I'll post this there later) WOW!!! This is something that has actually gotten me to join Lugnet and Brick Shelf. I've been messing around with Lego again since I got some for my kids a couple of years ago. Then last christmas I got them a Railway Express 4560 with enough track to fill a 4X8 including 6 turnouts. When I ran across the discussion thread last night about the Super Chief I checked it out. Since my Birthday is next week I told my wife not to bother shopping and I ordered 2 plus motor and light. I may have to sneak another in a few weeks to build a B unit though. My fastination with the Super Chief comes from the fact that I have a 1954 Lionel Emperor Chief Super Streamliner Lionel# 2234W. That my dad bought when he got home from the service. Its really an F3 rather than an F7, but close enough given the limitations of building it with Lego. (F3's only have one headlight is the most noticable difference.) I dug out my 1954 Lionel Catalog and have uploaded the pages of the Emperor Chief. Thought the group might find it interesting. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=12298 By the way, a pair of A units were $47.50 and a B unit was $9.95. Today you can't touch a mint pair for less than $1000. (mine are nice not mint I played with them when I was knee high to a grasshopper) Maybe over the weekend I will dig the set out and upload some digital photos if anyone is interested. Once I get my Lego units I will for sure take a family picture and upload it! Matt matthewwerner@attbi.com (psuedo thanks to ATT :-( )
