Liebherr LTM 1090


I started to create this mobile crane as a next step in building Lego cranes.
My Liebherr LTM 1055 shown on my Brickshelf folder was very simple created and therefore not so interesting for me to hold it in one piece.
This one Liebherr LTM 1090 is something completely different!
It is still a work in progres, so only few pics.
Most important changes compared to my previus crane:
1.First of all the color which every crane should be painted with:yellow,grey and black.
   I wanted to buy new parts for a long time.And new sets are here:4404,8421,4888x2.New curved parts were here!And those fine designed tyres with grey rims!
2.Dimensions:I spent many hours to get the right scale from PDF file
   If original domensions are 12895x3955x2750mm, calculated to my scale of 1:22 is 576x184x128mm.Or in studs 72x23x16.
   So i tried to follow this.You can see that prototype is very well scaled.
3.Before I didnt try to create such a slopes but now it was a must!
   Everywhere is some kind of curve:the cabin,the superstructure,the counterweight...take a look on the boom.
4.Roll bearing: my previus crane didnt slew the superstructure very good.Sometimes it just stoped due to the weight.
   New crane is much heavier.
   Now with 8 2x2 round brick it just glides,and it is real pleasure to look at it while in action!
5.Brass leadscrew for luffing the boom.
6. 3 boom sections,telescoping electricaly.
7.DRIVE STEER concept that realy works!!! In just 16 studs!!! It is very sturdy, and built into the chassis.
8.All the functions are powered by Lego motors.
