Dauphin AS 365 Aerospatiale Scale : 1/10e approx. Length : 1200mm (main rotor closed) , 1360mm High : 390mm Main Rotor : Dia 1160mm Fantail : Dia 110mm with 10 blades Weight : 3565 grs Number of pieces : ??? Power for Main rotor : 2 motors 43362 Power for Fantail : 1 motor 43362 The principal rotor is fully fonctional. I modify the Leo's blade (http://carol.wins.uva.nl/~leo/lego/rotor.html ) tilting principe, the updown movement is done with a pneumatic cylinder and a lever, that push an axle through a "gear 24 tooth crown" (with a little drip of silicone oil, sorry). Thanks the weight of the rotor the system can move updown. The power came from two motors towards to axle through the "gear 24 tooth crown". This system is more compact. He can fold the blade of the main rotor for storage like the real. The fantail rotor is composed with 10 blades, all blades can change the pitch and turn at same time. The fantail rotor is mounted on a turntable, the power came through the axle, and the same axle move in translation two disk that change the pitch of the blades. In the cockpit you find the control pedals and sticks. The 2 "front sticks" (double control) are used to control the pitch of the Main rotor blades. The "side sticks" (double control) are to control the tilting of the main rotor. The pedals (double control) are to control the pitch of the fantail blades. All the controls are mecanical (see the pictures). For infomation, the main rotor blades are to heavy for change their pitch. In the nose I install a box with Lead metal inside to keep the helicopter nose down. The landing gear moves with pneumatic cylinder, I use a manually pneumatic pump, it's more effective than a motorized small pump engine (I try with four motorized pumps end two motors).
