RX40 cerberus class reconnaisance/demolition mecha tech notes: yes, this is a mecha based off the animation "AEon Flux." I noticed how Gali's hooks managed to replicate her funky hair pretty well, and I had a spare tan Ruru kicking around that would look good as a humanoid face. it really came together when the toa Metru came out, and their microscopic waists were perfect to portray her strange physique. she's all black because I couldn't find any tan pieces other than the Ruru. I curse LEGO for making the metru one solid color. and I would have really liked to find some black Gali hooks, but until they make 'em, they'll resemble metal ram-horn antennae. her Ruru has small flecks and smudges of blue on it because I also painted it a long time ago for an exiled matoran's kanohi. (see Khika for the exile process.) so, with the wonder tool that is the X-Acto knife, I managed to scrape off most of the nail polish. most of it. and finally, I wanted to see if I could make a mech without relying on the stock toa or toa metru head and still have the same poseability and removeable mask. on to the story! not much is know about this mecha. she could be all machine, cyborg, or simply a human trapped in a mechanical suit of armor. her chaotic neutral mentality seems to imply the latter. she works as a free agent, never keeping the same employer for two missions in a row. she can slip through dimensions like they were adjacent rooms, unsing some sort of rift technology implanted in her backpack. her spun protodermis "horns" are actually a pair of helical broadband ether transeivers, moderate-range jamming arrays, and her last line of meelee defense. her split heel and toes break up her footprint and makes her nearly untrackable. matoran who have seen her are eitherextremely lucky, or dead shortly. because of this, wild rumors have spread throughout Metru and Mata Nui. some say under her mask lies a soulless void, some say it's nothing but a pair of ice blue eyes. others think it might really be her face, and due to her constant lack of expression, it just looks like a mask. a few believe that she's working under Turaga Dume. most think she works for some third great being. others believe she's a great being herself. weaponry: tech notes: most of it's loosely based off of weapons from "Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando," such as the HK22. her kanoka rifle was inspired by the thought that Vahki jaws looked so much more elegant than the stocky matoran kanoka launchers, and was much better suited to make a rifle out of. Plasma Rifle: the largest of her weapons. fires highly volatile Plasma bolts that can shock (obliterates anything moving) and awe (blasts really big holes in buildings). because of its massive destructive powers, it takes a few seconds to charge. the recoil of such a weapon is thought to be immense, but she never moves more than a foot backwards when firing it, and even then, her feet stay firmly planted. Seeker Claw: launches small cluster missiles that can be remote-controlled up to their target. in close combat, it can be used as a combination club and, well, a claw. Long-Range Kanoka Rifle: equipped with a high-frequency infared scope, she is able to hit targets from up to fifteen mio away, using hybrid kanoka from le- and ko- metru. the hybrid technique is simple: start working on a disk in one metru, finish it in another. this way, a kanoka's flight powers can be mixed. in this case, it has the ability to dodge obstacles and fly extremely far. Backpack: not really a weapon, but a weapon storage system. it contains a pocket dimension that can store an infinite number of objects, but can only release them one at a time. when a weapon is selected and withdrew, the backpack disappears for as long as the weapon is used. once the user is finished with the current weapon, the backpack returns to store the weapon and offer the rest of its arsenal. this pocket dimension and its containment system are also said to assist the formation of interdimensional rifts, which she can travel through. pictures: not much to say, except for maybe a few captions. RCM4: AEon shows off her flexibility by doing Rock Concert Movement #4, the Behind the Head Leg Stretch. FBrifle2: she gets a little out of character simply to be giddy.
