Justin's mech is outfitted with high-end external optic sensors to catch any rollergirl--visible,
disguised or just plain not there. his actual mask powers give him more controllable "phasing"
capabilities like Hard Anya, allowing him to avoid getting slammed into quite as much by
errant 'bots.

while most girls take his rulings and respect them, some (especially the out-of-towners) couldn't
care less. for those, he carries an energy drain spinner. when launched, it instantly reduces a
targeted mech's power and speed by at least half, allowing either Justin or any of the other
refs to cart her off to the penalty box. he also carries a small buckler just below the launcher
to deflect wayward kinetic orbs, crossbow bolts, and small furry mammals that might be flung.

...yeah. he doesn't have quad, or even tri-skates. he's got them chainsaw blades. why?
Because I think they look nifty, aright? real rollerblades look doofy as heck, but there's something
kinda sci-fi-nifty about those giant chainsaw quake breakers.
