Burning Plastic – Appendix A Premade Cars Class A Cars Amateur Night Special In Legoton, every Friday Night is Amateur Night. 8 Lucky volunteers are given a basic car and sent into the arena to fight until only one remains. The winner receives a cash prize, and also wins the car he fights in. The winners first refit of the car is usually to move the fuel tank – the arena owners place it in a very vulnerable position “to promote tactical driving”. Class A Top speed: 10 Acceleration: 3 Deceleration: 3 Weapons: 1 Small Gun – forward firing Template: Whippet This car can be tuned to two different settings, so be cautious when you encounter one until you know how it is configured. The primary configuration has a high top speed, and will generally accelerate constantly, using the turret to remain a danger to its opponent. Alternatively some drivers tune up the acceleration at the cost of top speed. You can outrun it on a straight road, but amongst obstacles its ability to vary its speed make it very nippy. Its weakness is the vulnerability of the driver – if you can get behind it, it is in trouble. Class A Top speed: 11 or 9 Acceleration: 2 or 4 Deceleration: 3 Weapons: 1 Small Gun – turreted, 1 Rocket – forward firing Template: Bulldog The Bulldog is slow, but sports an impressive armoury of weapons. The Big Gun makes short work of Class A opponents, and he has 2 heavy rockets on a turret to worry you should you get behind him. Your best shot is to get behind it at range and hope the missiles miss. Class A Top speed: 8 Acceleration: 1 Deceleration: 4 Weapons: 1 Big Gun – forward firing, 2 Rockets - turreted Class B Cars Shark At first glance you might wonder how a car like this cuts it against other Class B opponents. With a single small gun and a couple of rockets, it is outgunned even by some Class A cars. A closer inspection reveals an armoured plate several inches thick mounted on the front like a train’s cow catcher, turning the car itself into a deadly weapon. Keep out of its way and aim for its poorly protected sides. Class B Top speed: 10 Acceleration: 3 Deceleration: 3 Weapons: 1 Small Gun – turreted, 2 rockets – forward firing Barrage Barrage uses rockets as its primary weaponry. A total of 6 turreted rockets, plus 2 mounted up front allow it to deliver an awesome amount of damage wherever it wants. It is a feared opponent in small arena matches, although its obvious weakness is its staying power – it has only a single small gun as a backup once the rockets run dry. The driver is also placed in dangerous proximity to such a large amount of explosives. Class B Top speed: 10 Acceleration: 2 Deceleration: 5 Weapons: 1 Small Gun – forward firing, 1 small turret with 2 rockets, 1 large turret with 4 rockets, 2 rockets – forward firing. Class C Cars Omni Omni is a purpose built car for arena matches in which turrets are banned. It mounts weaponry in all directions to compensate. It is also sometimes used in matches where it must take on several smaller cars. Class C Top speed: 10 Acceleration: 1 Deceleration: 3 Weapons: 1 Large Gun –forward, 2 rockets – forward, 1 small gun – left, 1 rocket, left, 1 small gun – right, 1 rocket - right, 1 small gun – rear, 1 rocket – rear. Taurus Like the Shark, the Taurus’s primary attack method is ramming. Being a Class C car, it also finds room for a couple of big guns and a rocket to pummel its opponents with as it is charging them down. Class C Top speed: 10 Acceleration: 3 Deceleration: 3 Weapons: 2 Large guns – forward firing, 1 rocket – forward firing.
