ace people in this fandom are annoying as fuck, they poop on everybody's posts that sexualizes (a canonically sexualized show), I don't get why they feel the need to make everything about them and demonize sexuality
I and mutuals have been a victim of ace people freaking out in posts, so I understand what you’re saying. It’s hard on a fandom from a show that’s highly sexual in vibes lol.
Agreed. Asexual representation is absolutely important, and no one’s disputing that. But just as I wouldn’t attempt to turn explicitly ace-centered media into something overtly sexual, because that would miss the point, you can’t reshape a narrative to suit your personal ideology of what’s “right” or “wrong” either. That’s what fanfiction is for: space to explore alternative interpretations without distorting the original tone or intent.
It’s one thing not to resonate with or enjoy sexual themes, that’s entirely valid. But it’s another thing entirely to cross into demonizing sexuality and those who express it. The truth is, I rarely, if ever see people calling asexuality wrong or inferior in this fandom. So why is it that, time and again, ace voices feel entitled to frame sexual expression as flawed, lesser, or morally suspect?
LMAOO true tho like there’s no shame in it, do your thing?
What’s even more troubling is when canon is twisted to claim that Will’s affection for Abigail serves as evidence for a daddy complex. If that fantasy holds such appeal, then why not simply write a fanfic?
Gonna get hated on but I don't find Alana or Molly attractive :( and it ruins the dynamics for me but it's not something I'm choosing put of spite! I just don't find them appealing
That’s completely valid, no one is obligated to find anyone attractive. I understand how that can affect how you perceive a character dynamic. It’s difficult to fully invest in a relationship when there feels like a perceived imbalance in attractiveness. That reaction is entirely normal, even if it’s shaped by social conditioning. It’s not a personal failing, just a reflection of how deeply those standards are embedded.
Dear anon, what makes you think I would waste my time reading your giant ass rant that capslocks ASSHOLE PICK ME etc? I was born in 1994, ffy, it’s probably why I have no patience for idiots like you, who take random blog posts as if you’re life depended on it. Go touch grass and grow balls, anon hate then calling someone “some 16 year old”? babe. you’re sending ANON hate lmao, get over yourself.
I’ll never understand how anyone believes it’s valid to deliver pretentious criticism while hiding behind anonymity. It’s one thing to submit an “unhinged take”, that’s usually invited. But entering someone’s inbox to project superiority without revealing yourself? You’ve already undermined your own credibility.
At the very least, own your words. It’s hard to take seriously a critique about someone’s supposed immaturity when you don’t even have the maturity to attach your name to your opinions. Frankly, I don’t bother reading most of these anonymous messages either, they rarely aim to engage meaningfully. They exist only to embody the very qualities they claim to condemn: creating drama, acting superior, and being exactly what they accuse others of.
If your goal were genuine dialogue, you’d message from your actual account. If you won’t, then your critique is empty, and, in truth, you’re proving yourself more hypocritical than anyone you’re attempting to call out.
If we pretend the outfits were character choices not costume design choices, how would you analyze Alana's? I despise her style (even after s3)
If we approach the characters as though they’re real individuals selecting their own wardrobes, Alana’s fashion choices in the first two seasons suggest a desire for male validation. Working in a male-dominated field, she consistently opts for traditionally feminine silhouettes, sometimes even drawing on a 1950s aesthetic, rather than choosing attire that might be seen as more neutral or commanding. It’s less about professionalism and more about appealing to the male gaze, consciously or not.
Then, in season three, she shifts to a bold masculine-feminine hybrid style that leans into the theatrical. It feels like an overt attempt to differentiate herself, but the result comes off as forced, less authentic expression and more performance.
Taken together, Alana’s evolving style signals a consistent thread: she dresses to be seen. Whether through hyper-femininity or exaggerated androgyny, there’s always an undercurrent of needing to capture and direct attention. That’s why I hate her costume design too, it simply does not make sense for her…I don’t think she’s a character who would constantly search for validation but the style they chose for her does imply that.

omg those awful dresses from s1 and 2, plsss they did her so wrong
Also, the fact that they went “now she’s dating a woman so she dresses more masculine/less feminine than before” is such a wrong approach. And they can’t even give the excuse that she “found herself” because Caroline said Alana always knew she was bi and already explored that so…? Oh well what to expect from a predominantly cis male ran tv show lol

My least favorite thing is her fake bob in s3b. Either fucking wear a wig or cut your hair don’t just wear it pinned up what working person, especially someone working in a psych hospital, would fucking do that every day— INSANITY
She starts off with a more girly suburbian slightly western or boho look, then transitions into a Hannibal version of a private school girl, then it gets a bit confusing and then Will imagines her as a more mature woman, not as a little girl.
A different, more fashionable (fun) approach.
I would start her off more distinctively a country girl who hunts with dad, and the post-garret just all black, trying to hide herself while retaining a youthful look.
What the show did was a bit strange, there’s no real transition from the kind of boho to the English private school thing. I get Hannibal would have sn influence but she changed styles right away, as soon as she was up, and those were picked by Alana, which is even weirder since she’s a psychiatrist so she should’ve tried to get clothes that resemble Abigail’s style, why would she buy her outfits like that? Then she sometimes appears in completely out of any established style look. Then with Will is just 🤷♀️??
I wasn’t happy with how the story was written. I want to do it justice, such a vast universe created itself in my mind that I couldn’t do anything else except make it as good as I could, and that current version wasn’t that. I promise I will publish it but I want to honor it and the characters.
It’s always “Hannibal told Will he loved him in Will’s dream so Will subconsciously knew Hannibal loved him” or “well actually Will was confessing to himself that he loves Hannibal because to Will, as he stated for himself in his own mind under the projected image of Hannibal, is knowing someone fully” but never:
it’s Will speaking to himself through the image of Hannibal. But crucially, it’s also Will’s interpretation of Hannibal…what Will believes Hannibal feels, or at least what Will hopes or fears he feels.
This means the dream isn’t only a confession, it’s an act of inner revelation. It shows that Will, perhaps unconsciously, has reached a conclusion: if Hannibal loves at all, this is how he loves. And Will recognizes himself as the object of that love.
The words chosen are so precise. Not sentimental. Almost clinical, but filled with reverence. They mirror how Hannibal tends to speak about humanity: through a lens of transformation and potential. Hannibal doesn’t just feel things, he cultivates them. Love, for him, is an alchemical act. To love someone is to believe in their becoming, and then to coerce or lure them into becoming it.
So when Will dreams Hannibal saying those words, it reflects not just romantic yearning, it reflects recognition. He understands Hannibal’s manipulations as, in their own twisted logic, acts of love. Dangerous, controlling, but sincere by Hannibal’s own logic. Will has absorbed that logic deeply enough to articulate it on Hannibal’s behalf in a dream.
The dream as pivot point. This moment acts like a fulcrum. It’s not just Will’s subconscious projecting desire or clarity, it’s Will grappling with what kind of love is being offered, and whether he can respond to it, survive it, or surrender to it. That’s why the speech includes not just a confession, but a theory of love.
This is also the moment where Will realizes that Hannibal wants him to become. The becoming has always been the love language. Murder, manipulation, empathy…those are just the syntax. Love is the grammar.
So is it Will realizing he loves Hannibal? Not quite, not fully, not yet. But it is the point at which Will stops denying that love is the correct word for what binds them. It’s not a confession. It’s a recognition of truth. And that’s why he puts the words in Hannibal’s mouth first. He needs to hear it from the other in order to know it’s safe to feel it himself.
The line is Will imagining what it means to be loved by Hannibal, not how he loves, but how he is loved by Hannibal. And by framing it in Hannibal’s voice, he grants himself permission to believe it.
Never see anyone talking about the Bluebeard wife line, which literally prompted Will to ask the iconic “is Hannibal in love with me?” so…Here’s my rant:
I think they might be going off the Charles Dickens’ short story “Captain Murderer”, in which the title character is described as “an offshoot of the Bluebeard family”. In this version of the story he cannibalises each wife shortly after marriage, baking her flesh in a huge meat pie. Then meets his demise after his sister-in-law, in revenge for the death of her sister, marries him and consumes a deadly poison just before he kills and eats her.
Interestingly enough I read a fic once where Bedelia did just that (consumed poison to poison Hannibal).
Hannibal is obviously the Bluebeard figure. He seduces through elegance, intellect, refinement, but there’s a hidden room full of corpses. He invites people close, but if they truly know him, they risk destruction.
Bedelia, in saying she’d prefer to be the last wife, implies she knows Hannibal’s truth but wishes to be the one who survives him, or even transforms the tale by making herself the final chapter.
Bedelia’s line about Bluebeard is not mockery, but a deep, fatalistic admission. She knows her role in Hannibal’s opera. She sees Will stepping into the final act and she challenges him with that. Her line pushes Will into the unbearable question: If I’m the one Hannibal loves, then what does that make me?
In hearing Bedelia position herself as the “last,” Will subconsciously wonders: Am I the one who came before the end? Or am I the end itself?
And the only way to answer that… is to ask:
“Is he in love with me?”
Because if Hannibal is truly in love with Will and not just fascinated, not just manipulating, then Will is no longer a piece on the chessboard. He’s the axis of Hannibal’s desire.
What do you think makes Hannibal annoyed at Will? Genuinely cause fic writers always write him as 🎀 and he never gets mad but coexisting with someone naturally creates some annoyances specially for someone like Hannibal who is so controlling
I love this question. I do think he would get annoyed, absolutely! And because I sense you’re asking for a more realistic, less “🎀” answer, I’ll say this: Possession is love language for Hannibal. Will’s autonomy reads as rejection. Hannibal would never admit he wants obedience, but he wants belonging, and Will withholds just enough to keep Hannibal starving.
when do you think will fell in love with hannibal? not realized he was in love, just was. i have my ideas and thoughts but i am curious about yours after reading your analysis of his dream
Oh from the get go haha. Will seemed disinterested in most people and things in general, but he constantly showed interest in Hannibal. But because to him, he knew his interests were dark, and he couldn’t see the darkness in Hannibal at first, he told himself (and Hannibal) he didn’t “find him that interesting”. He didn’t believe he could be interested in anything that wasn’t violent and dreadful. But he was. When his subconscious brought him to Hannibal after losing time, he was already in love. With the understanding, the safety, the connection. It’s why it hit him so hard when he found out he was being lied to. That made him question the entirety of their connection, and only when he learned to separate Hannibal’s actions from Hannibal’s feelings, he was able to accept that he was loved.
I was reading your post about the feminization of Will and it's so funny cause yes, I relate, but at the same time I also see him as a top, and Hannibal as a super feminine partner who occasionally acts masculine
I was talking to a friend of mine and they told me they prefer to watch het explicit content to imagine Hannigram because they could not picture Will acting like a standard “gay guy” during sex and it made me think many thoughts. They said “something about the aesthetic configuration of gay sex doesn’t look like what Hannigram would actually engage in” and these words made so much sense to me. But isn’t it an interesting topic though? What made us think like this? I say we because most depictions of Hannigram having sex look/read more like a hetification of gay sex, so even on an unconscious level I think this really is the standard for the fandom.
Holy shit I do the same thing too! Why do you think that is??
Probably because Hannigram is a relationship born not from identity politics or queerness as a community, but from archetype. It’s mythic, not modern. It exists outside of gay or straight, it lives in eros, in domination, in mirrors, in transformation.
In much of fandom (and particularly in slash fan culture), one character often gets assigned “the feminine role”, emotionally, narratively, sexually. With Hannigram, Will is often placed there because he resists, suffers, emotes, and is transformed. That doesn’t necessarily feminize him in reality, but it codes him in the aesthetic tradition of the one who is penetrated, not just sexually, but psychically.
And yet Will isn’t submissive. Not really. He’s ambiguous. Which breaks the visual shorthand of most depictions of gay sex, especially pornographic or mainstream ones. He’s not a “bottom” in the pop-cultural sense. He’s prey, then predator. He seduces by fleeing, commands by yielding.
Women, particularly straight or bi women, are often drawn to slash pairings not to see “gay men” represented, but to see a relationship stripped of gendered expectations. However, they often end up reproducing hetero-dynamic frameworks in the way they imagine it: dominant/submissive, pursuer/pursued, active/passive.
This is why some women imagine Hannigram more easily through het content, not because they don’t appreciate gay sex, but because the heterosexual framework is deeply embedded in how they read tension and surrender.
So when they watch gay porn or read gay sex scenes that don’t replicate that tension, or worse, that feel performative, sterile, or too anatomically focused, it feels false to what Hannibal and Will actually are to each other.
Mainstream portrayals of gay sex often rely on visual, mechanical rhythms that flatten the emotional or psychological dimensions. They don’t reflect ritual, which is what Hannigram is. When my friend said “that’s not what Hannigram would do,” they’re not talking about positions or acts, they’re talking about ritual atmosphere. About the texture of their eroticism.
And Hannigram’s eroticism is full of slowness, possession, powerplay, and mutual psychic invasion. Aesthetic gay sex in porn just… doesn’t look like that. And het porn, especially the kind that focuses on domination or eye contact or slow devastation, often does.
Hannigram isn’t about “being gay.” It’s about being consumed. About becoming someone else through closeness. It’s about spiritual possession disguised as love. So fans drawn to that don’t think in terms of what “gay sex” looks like, they think in terms of what their version of eros looks like. And that eros, for many women, has been visually coded through years of seeing that intensity only in heterosexual content.
So it’s not wrong, it’s not homophobic, and it’s not even necessarily about feminizing Will. It’s about needing to adapt the visual language of desire to fit the archetype we see in them. Because what Hannibal and Will share is not same-sex romance. It’s mythic tragedy. It’s divine union. And very little explicit media, gay or straight, can look like that.
I'm not sure if you answer this questions and I'm sorry if you get this questions again but what do you think about the relationship between Will and Molly? Does Will actually have feelings for Molly?
I have many posts under #molly, and this is my official stance on it.
If you’re not building your memory palace as a Hannibal fan…You’re failing miserably at changing your entire life. Hannibal gave you the tip, just do it, seriously. It is something that will alter the way you live and will enhance your life in unimaginable ways.
Tumblr is not letting me answer the ask directly so here it is:
I have no issue with the first interpretation or with any interpretation, really. The problem arises when others can’t simply coexist with differing views and instead come into my posts with accusations, disrespect, or the insinuation that including sex in a relationship dynamic is somehow inferior or reductive. It’s not about disagreeing, it’s about the way disagreement is delivered.
Personally, I’ve never commented on someone else’s meta to claim they’re wrong or to invalidate their perspective. My approach is live and let live. But since the question was raised: the reason I don’t align with the first interpretation is because it often comes with the implication that sex is unnecessary when a connection is truly deep or “mental.” That framing subtly positions sexual expression as something lesser, something that only enters the picture when the bond is lacking elsewhere.
I don’t view sex as a need or a filler. I see it as a symbolic, intentional act, an extension of desire, not deficiency. In my reading, Hannigram engages in sex not because they’re incomplete without it, but because it becomes a way of expressing a particular facet of their bond.
Hannibal thinks he has aesthetic kinks like shibari and artsy kinks but in reality he will go rock hard immediately if you treated him as “unclean” or animalistic, it’s a way of reenacting his monstrous identity on his own terms. Because Hannibal is so controlling and godlike, he may fetishize the willing loss of control, but only within a highly ritualized context like service submission like devotion through obedience. Or predicament bondage where his dignity is challenged, but in a theatrical, symbolic way. Maybe fear play like being made to feel hunted for once, if only briefly. Feederism, oral fixation, or being force-fed to reclaim his primary trauma, maybe. Sharing saliva, blood, or breath: ritual intimacy, blending identities.
Will is overloaded with empathy and often seeks release through surrender. He might lean toward emotional edgeplay: degradation, manipulation, or “mindfuck” scenes that force him to confront and release buried guilt. Primal play, where he gives in to instinct (growling, biting, chasing). Possibly enjoys being “hunted” or “collared,” reflecting his inner fear of becoming what he chases. 24/7 D/s undertones, though subtle, he doesn’t want control, he wants to feel safe surrendering it. Breath control or sensory deprivation: anything that silences his mind.
So fucking necessary of Penn Badley saying Joe is a rapist and criticizing the audience for needing to see it explicitly in order to grasp this because YES omg yes?? This applies to some elements in Hannibal too like buddy…Media literacy, I am begging of you. People not believing H and Bedelia were fucking simply because it wasn’t shown or that Will or H wouldn’t be violent towards women because it wasn’t shown (I mean it was for H but yall have severe problems).
There is a persistent paradox in how audiences consume and interpret narrative media: the simultaneous demand for explicit representation and the instinctive rejection of it once shown.
This reveals a troubling dependency on surface-level legibility. It is as if only what is seen is what is true. Subtext, implication, tone…these have become unreliable to the modern viewer. When things are made explicit, when sex, violence, or moral corruption are shown clearly then audiences recoil, accusing the creators of being gratuitous, didactic, or overly graphic. The reaction is not consistent; it is split along deeply internalized lines about what we are allowed to see, and what we are allowed to know.
One possible root lies in the concept of abjection. Julia Kristeva describes the abject as that which disturbs identity, system, order. It is what the body expels to maintain coherence, what society must cast out to maintain legibility. In narrative terms, abjection appears when characters violate moral categories, when the lover is also the killer, when the mother is also the seductress, when the protagonist is not a hero but a reflection of the viewer’s own capacity for cruelty or desire. Ambiguity threatens order. Subtlety, nuance, implication, these are risky because they allow space for projection, and projection invites recognition. The viewer might have to see something of themselves.
So audiences demand explicitness not because they desire clarity, but because they are afraid of implication. When a narrative shows without telling, it leaves them responsible for interpretation. It destabilizes the moral frame. But when a character is labeled, when a scene is literal, the viewer is released from ambiguity; they can accept or reject the morality on offer without implicating their own desires or contradictions.
Literalism is the defense against collapse. It allows viewers to remain comfortably outside the story, untouched by its moral mud. But media, especially complex narratives like Hannibal, are not about moral clarity. They are about thresholds, ambiguity, the slow horror of becoming. Refusing to engage with subtext isn’t just a lack of literacy, it’s an unwillingness to confront how desire and violence coexist, how love can corrode, how the viewer might already be implicated.
You memtioned once that you thought Bedelia was in love with Hannibal. Could you elaborate? I love your analysis.
No amount of professional curiosity would realistically compel someone to abandon their entire life, risk their safety, and willingly entangle themselves in criminal acts…all to remain close to a notorious killer. Just as Will’s decision to seek out Hannibal defies logic without acknowledging the pull of passion, Bedelia’s actions can’t be explained solely through rational motivations.
She herself gestures toward this deeper undercurrent when she asks Chiyoh, “How does he inspire such devotion?” It’s not a rhetorical question, it’s personal. And when she speaks to Will about Hannibal being in love with him, her voice trembles with emotion. She doesn’t emphasize you in “do you ache for him?”, she emphasizes ache, her eyes glistening, as if to suggest that she knows that ache intimately.
The implication is subtle but powerful: perhaps she does ache for Hannibal. Perhaps that ache defines her just as much as it defines Will. And within that moment lies an unspoken comparison: is Will truly more worthy of Hannibal’s love than she is?
Interestingly, Bedelia also carries much of Clarice Starling’s original narrative arc, which further supports the idea that she shares a complex, possibly romantic, attachment to Hannibal. Yet, unlike Will, Bedelia seems less inclined to name it love, perhaps because love, for her, is too human a word for what she feels.
the kid’s pov would be interesting but I noticed the fandom tends to not be very interested in stories where H or Will aren’t always present or the focus is on them so idk
I just think based on OG Rotten Meat (and in canon of course) Will is such an unreliable narrator and the dynamics he’s experiencing in the Rotten Meat universe … he lacks insight! But I’ll be real, I’m here for Rotten Meat however it’s written!!
RM Will is so fucking insane, but you’re right, it seems that Dolarhyde kid was the one that could see them all for who they were. Without the fear and fantasy, she just looked, and saw reality. But Mia is my baby, I love her sm, her pov was so eerie.
Such interesting points! Thank you guys. It’s true, Rotten Will lacks insight, although I was thinking of a internalized narration. Something fuzzy that you can’t tell when it’s happening outside of his mind or inside. But I will definitely consider Mia’s or someone else ;)
Has anyone ever confronted Will or Mia about their strange dynamic?
Sorry for taking so long to respond, Rotten wasn’t on my mind for awhile.
Yes, most definitely. Mia would always take it as an opportunity to tease, and Will would recoil. You know that thing he did when Abigail said “just because you killed my father doesn’t mean you get to be him”? That expression.
I think Hannibal is melancholic as fuck but no one gets me
No. I’m not melancholic. I’m something else. But it’s precisely that difference which allows me to recognize melancholy in those who don’t wear it in obvious ways. Melancholy isn’t about a downcast expression or visible sorrow, it’s not a look, it’s a state of being.
It lingers in his eyes, in the way decay is not avoided but absorbed. That’s what I see in him. He doesn’t flee from his sadness, he inhales it. He doesn’t resist the rot, he sets a table for it, turns it into a feast. That, to me, is the essence of melancholy: not in the tears shed, but in the quiet devotion to pain as something sacred.
Physical intimacy between Hannibal and Will is never rendered through conventional sexual acts. Instead, the show builds a visual language where moments of violence are imbued with erotic charge. Nowhere is this substitution more potent than in scenes where Hannibal’s blood covers Will’s face, a moment that echoes the pornographic grammar of the cum shot, yet reconfigured through the stylized horror of arterial spray. What emerges is a symbolic ritual of domination, intimacy, and mutual entanglement, where desire is not expressed through sex, but through the spectacle of blood.
Traditional pornography has long used the “money shot” as a visual endpoint: a climax that externalizes and authenticates male pleasure. In this model, ejaculation is less about physical release than about visible proof, a mark placed upon the other, a gesture of power and intimacy merged. The show adopts this structure but replaces semen with blood, turning each wound, each spurt, each slow-motion splatter into a loaded visual climax.
Hannibal bleeds, but Will is the one marked. Hannibal, the orchestrator of violence, surrenders part of his own body, his own essence, onto Will. The blood on Will’s face is not only symbolic of orgasm; it is symbolic of vulnerability, of the transference of self, and of a spiritual and erotic submission. Yet it also operates as a form of dominance. To cover the other’s face with one’s fluid, be it semen or blood, is to claim, to imprint, to seal. The fact that these scenes happen in Will’s imagination (in the dream sequence the black blood was meant to be splashed in Will’s face, they even filmed the scene). The ambiguity between dominance and surrender, between harm and communion, is essential to their dynamic. Hannibal bleeds for Will, onto Will, into Will. The act is both devotional and possessive.
Blood, in these moments, is viscous metaphor. It refuses to dry, to disappear. It lingers on Will’s skin, in the air, in memory. It becomes part of Will, a red signature that binds them together. These blood shots are framed like erotic climaxes: the camera slows, the light catches the droplets midair, Will’s expression is one of dazed awe. The gaze is not repulsed, it is entranced or proud. There is beauty in the transgression, in the staining. These are not scenes of death. They are scenes of becoming.
Their relationship is a sustained tension between restraint and release, repression and exhibition. The eroticization of Hannibal’s blood on Will’s face is where that tension erupts. It replaces what cannot be shown (semen, orgasm, surrender) with a metaphor that is even more primal. Blood is older than lust, older than language. In these moments, Will is being consecrated, and Hannibal is both the priest and the lover.
The substitution of semen with blood is not only about censorship. It is about elevation. Semen is reproductive; blood is sacrificial. The imagery suggests that what Hannibal offers Will is more than desire, it is essence, mortality, godhood. In place of sex, they give each other violence. In place of orgasm, they give each other ruin. And yet, it is always erotic. Always intimate. Always mutual.
To turn blood into the language of lust. To make a face covered in blood read as a face covered in love, in death, in longing fulfilled.
I wish we had more actual conversations rather than just likes and reblogs cause there’s so much I’m curious about (I mean yeah I’m a psych researcher but), like: what does it for you with these omegaverse fics, and what about Hannibal breeding Will that you find sexy, and why do you like about Will displaying violence and Hannibal submitting? Open up your mind, heart and soul for me to take a peak at.
oh and also the throat mimics the appearance of genital imagery: open, raw, wet, pulsing. The throat becomes the place where power, intimacy, and pleasure converge, like a relocation of the clitoris because this one cannot be shown (or in Will’s case it is a symbolic clitoris —the whole thing of female genitalia symbolizing submission etc, etc).
If you’re not building your memory palace as a Hannibal fan…You’re failing miserably at changing your entire life. Hannibal gave you the tip, just do it, seriously. It is something that will alter the way you live and will enhance your life in unimaginable ways.
I received some questions regarding this so I’ll just answer in this post:
- There are a lot of youtube videos on how to build a memory palace, I highly recommend for in depth learning.
- You can use it to store memories, memorize information such as scripts, images, etc.
- You can use it as a place of refuge.
- I recommend using a place you know, instead of making one up. A fun thing I do is watch youtube tours of castles and use those since they are vast and can store a lot of information.
- Do not place information in the same room, otherwise they will overlap or cancel each other out.
Somewhere in a parallel world, Will runs away with him. They escape. For a time, it’s everything Hannibal wanted, proximity, intimacy, shared monstrosity. But Will can’t sustain it. Maybe he dies (by suicide, by pursuit, by some violent fate). Either way, the dream curdles. Hannibal can’t live in a world where Will is absent.
So he seeks the unthinkable: reversal.
Mizumono is already a second attempt. It’s too dramatic, too perfect, too theatrical, the stage set for an operatic heartbreak. Abigail’s murder isn’t just a final cruelty. It’s a sacrificial act: Hannibal tried to keep her alive by faking her death but it wasn’t enough, so again, she dies. She must die.
She’s the symbol of alternate timelines. Hannibal “kills” her multiple times. Perhaps she never really died the first time.
When he kills her, it’s not because he wants to. It’s because she is the “error” in the spell, she must be removed for the pattern to hold. “Fate and circumstance have returned us to this moment.” The teacup shatters again.
So Hannibal’s imprisonment is not a punishment, it’s a ritual site. Every act is a rebalancing of the prior attempt.
What we’re watching is not one timeline. It’s a ritual loop, shaped by Hannibal’s will, until the variables align and Will finally becomes the version who survives, who ends up with him.
Hello Milk! Just wanted to tell you that your blog is probably the best thing that exists on this hellsite. Once in a few weeks I dedicate an evening to sit down and savour your posts. Phenomenal work, thank you so much for what you do <3
Wow, that is so kind! I agree that this little hole can be hellish sometimes (but I haven’t found a hole in the webs that isn’t haha). Thank you for the sweet words 🤍

It’s a ritual loop, shaped by Hannibal’s will, until the variables align and Will finally becomes the version who survives, who ends up with him.
fuck I love time traveling theories, it fucks up the entire plot. This would actually explain a lot…Hannibal still being tender with Will in Mizumono, how he looked like he was doing what he “had” to do. And of course the surrender to the FBI is much less insane in this theory, because he knew he had to do it. Maybe Will couldn’t find him in another world, so he made sure Will would “always know where to find him”. Fuck I gotta lay down.
imagine loving someone so much you choose to stay imprisoned for three years + sacrifice someone you care about just to keep them away from death’s grip or maybe just to keep them.
huge ginormous fucking pet peeve of mine in hannigram fics is hannibal not liking will’s dogs. FUCK OFF. i dare you to say to my face that hannibal could not bring himself to love anything and everything that will feels love or fondness for. anything that is touched by him or breathed by his voice. will is an extension of him and they are one in the same. his whole control obsession and ritualistic behaviors would not apply to will because his love for him both stems from and is exacerbated by his inability to control himself around him. he cannot keep up his routines and patterns with will, because his desire to be seen and understood overpowers his reason. he wouldn’t care about being covered in dog hair or caked in mud or bleeding out if it was in will’s namesake. will is his own personal god. he loves those fucking dogs so much, not because it comes natural to him, but because they are part of will, and therefore loved inherently
Realistically I don’t think he’d love them. But would he link their well being to Will’s? Absolutely. He would care for them because Will would be pleased to see them well taken care of.
What kind of information do you mostly store in your memory palace? I have one very clear mental place that I want to use. But it is also very dear to me so I want to be mindful of how I use it. It feels like I have too much information that I want to remember and too little space. Do you just build more rooms/palace's. Do you have any tips?
I store…well, everything to be honest. From faces, to birthdays, to phobe numbers, to happy memories, I lock up traumatic memories and feelings, I have rooms for my child self with healing tools on the inside, I store academic knowledge, scripts of lectures I need to give, passwords, places/addresses.
And no, no building more rooms, that’s why I recommend using a place that you do not have personal experience with. And choose a vast place because creating rooms usually makes it harder cause it’s another thing you have to memorize and without having a physical visual of it, it’s harder for imagined rooms to stick properly. Go on youtube and search your favorite style of architecture + castle/mansion/hotel something that is structurally big.
I want Hannigram Twilight AU but with Will as a vampire. I mean just look at him: he has lived many years. He has the eyes of someone who went through high school for centuries. He’s seductive yet doesn’t care about anyone. He’s just floating through life. Until Hannibal. And because Hannibal eats humans, Will, as a repressed vegetarian vampire, is enamored by the scent of human meat that exudes from Hannibal’s skin. Someone do it pretty please.
How do you think Hannibal will make good on his promise to kill Alana? Personally, I hope it’s Hannibal and Will stabbing her to death together a la the sex scene in s2 but it could just be my current headspace lol
That would actually be very cool, visually! I believe if it’s a realistic perspective then Fuller might let her live just to pretend he’s doing something for the women and the lesbians. That’s the only thing that prompted him to try and “better” the character looove how men are like “how can I make this female character more interesting? oh I know just make her gay”, like wow lazy ass writing, anyway…, so he’d probably keep this up. But for fun, if they actually thought about plot, I think Hannibal would rather take everything away from her, than just kill her, since in his mind he gave her the wife and kid (“they belong to me”).
I never stated this? I think I said I the fandom tends to look past Will being violent towards women because it’s not explicitly shown but not that he would be more violent towards women than men. There were some posts on @milkfordragons about this, maybe you saw a reblog?
Mmm…Yeah, I wouldn’t know how to explain this since my stance is Will, if depicted realistically, would likely be violent with women, but not necessarily more than with men. Bryan stated he wanted the audience to like Will, so obviously he wouldn’t make him violent towards women. But if we analyze the character in a more realistic light, then it’s very unlikely that he’d be such a feminist lol.
As a psych major, how do you analyze the characters so well? I mean what is your process?
Thank you for saying I analyze them well :). My process is I look at their canon behavior and then I try to understand how they became that way, using an exclusion method. For example: Will has a very vivid imagination. What makes someone develop that? Children who have loving parents, who encourage imagination and creativity is one option. Lonely children with no siblings who need to constantly escape their reality is another. Which one is the most plausible for Will, considering he doesn’t display any other traits of a person who grew up with loving parents? Yeah lol. That’s essentially how I do it in order to analyze them, specifically when I back track and theorize.
I see it all and so I want nothing. Not out of peace, but precision. a photo is light, pixels, shadowplay, not the field, not the flower, not the air in your throat when you breathe it in. Just an image. I like it, sure. but I do not want it. how could I? it does not lie to me. and people…God, people. I don’t dislike them, I just see too much. the rust behind the charm, the patterns that repeat, the childhood still flinching behind the eyes. no one is special when you see how they are made. and I see it, all of it, bones, neuroses, inherited phrases, the loop their mother handed them tied in a pink ribbon called love. I wish I could want things. not own them, desire them. crave them like sugar, ache for them like sleep. but I know too well. know the weight behind every face, the construction behind every thrill. even the sublime feels like geometry now. and so I wait in this clean, dry room of knowing where nothing surprises and nothing seduces, because everything has already been understood.
There is a particular condition that arises when the mind becomes too precise. When the veil that separates image from reality, symbol from source, has thinned beyond repair. Nothing is allowed to remain mysterious. A photo is no longer an invitation but just a record, a static arrangement of pixels, light, and framing. The object represented dissolves before any longing can form. The image is instantly seen as separate from the real, and the real, in turn, stripped of its magic.
In this perceptual clarity, desire begins to starve. Not for lack of objects, but because no object appears concealed. Everything is too available, too explained. There is no room left for projection, and without projection, nothing glows.
Other people become similarly flat. Not in hostility, not in boredom, but through transparency. No individual appears exceptional when viewed without distortion. Personalities reveal their mechanics quickly, formed habits, inherited behaviors, biological repetitions. The narrative of uniqueness collapses under a gaze that sees systems, not stories.
Idealization cannot survive in this environment. Without idealization, nothing is elevated. Attraction becomes recognition. Beauty becomes symmetry. Conversation becomes pattern. There is no myth, only function.
This is not disillusionment in the tragic sense. It is not disappointment. It is a condition of lucidity so complete that emotional investment finds no foothold. Curiosity struggles. Fascination recedes. The world remains coherent, but dull.
What remains is a kind of sterile peace: untroubled, but unenchanted. Not empty, just too complete.
oh and also the throat mimics the appearance of genital imagery: open, raw, wet, pulsing. The throat becomes the place where power, intimacy, and pleasure converge, like a relocation of the clitoris because this one cannot be shown (or in Will’s case it is a symbolic clitoris —the whole thing of female genitalia symbolizing submission etc, etc).
I wish there was more care taken in simply reading what’s been said. At no point did I “insist” that female genitalia inherently means submission (in fsct I even wrote it as “the whole thing”). What I clearly referred to was symbolism in media. Within the collective visual language, particularly in how it appears in cultural and pornographic imagery, it does often symbolize submission.
This isn’t a personal claim, nor a universal truth, but a commentary on representation. To deny that symbolism in these contexts is to ignore the broader mechanisms of meaning-making. And yes, I even addressed this in depth, including how the porn industry constructs such imagery in the post previous and linked to this one.
Saying “it doesn’t symbolize submission” may be true for you, for me, but not in the realm of media analysis, where these patterns are deliberate and repeated. Denying that is disingenuous.
And viewing submission as inherently negative or inferior is its own form of internalized sexism. It’s crucial to move beyond these knee-jerk reactions and actually engage with the nuance.
why are you convinced that Fuller made Alana bisexual just to “better” her or “make her more interesting” ?? he’s a queer writer and on a network show where things would have been restricted the first go around, revealing characters are queer later rather than initially makes sense.
I’m not “convinced”, he said so himself. Maybe research before commenting?
