Point is, Hannibal has always seen something extremely powerful in Will. Since day one. And in three seasons we have only partially seen this feral side of him. Hannibal seems to be the only one who is aware of this and he is always trying to warn those around him, but he warns them with a sense of pride. He is not intimidated by what lurks inside Will, he is excited by it, he is ecstatic every time he gets a glimpse. Especially because he knows Will is more passionate and angry than him because to Will, killing is very personal, it’s never just for fun.
