I’ll never understand how anyone believes it’s valid to deliver pretentious criticism while hiding behind anonymity. It’s one thing to submit an “unhinged take”, that’s usually invited. But entering someone’s inbox to project superiority without revealing yourself? You’ve already undermined your own credibility.
At the very least, own your words. It’s hard to take seriously a critique about someone’s supposed immaturity when you don’t even have the maturity to attach your name to your opinions. Frankly, I don’t bother reading most of these anonymous messages either, they rarely aim to engage meaningfully. They exist only to embody the very qualities they claim to condemn: creating drama, acting superior, and being exactly what they accuse others of.
If your goal were genuine dialogue, you’d message from your actual account. If you won’t, then your critique is empty, and, in truth, you’re proving yourself more hypocritical than anyone you’re attempting to call out.
