What do you think about Chiyoh?
I love the idea of Chiyoh, not so much the execution…She ended being yet another plot device for the male characters. A pretty flat one at that, too. Her sole purpose was to be a storytelling shortcut for Will to find Hannibal then have a reason for Hannibal to drug him, etc. She had no actual backstory or even an identity aside from Hannibal. Fuller managed to make her worse than Alana in these terms and the only thing that saved her was that the actress made the role less obnoxious than Alana, so no one dislikes her as much. She had a more “strong female” costume so she got away from the hate, but haha…Pretty awfully developed character. Awesome concept, though.
