hi!! i really loved your take about Hannigram and age regression because that is something i've not really ever seen being discussed in regards to their relationship. would you mind elaborating on that (i.e how you think it would start between them and how either would have different behaviors when in such a vulnerable state and how the other would feel caring for them)?

i'm ace myself and i'm sorry if people were giving you a hard time about sharing your own thoughts on their relationship. you should be able to share what you want on your own blog without being given a hard time for it <3

aww thank you, it’s alright, though, I blocked those people awhile ago :)

The only fic I’ve seen that explores this a little is the famous Seventh Sense, which although not explicit, it does show some behaviors, specially from Will that could be subtle age regressions. And @suchawrathfullamb ’s Tangle of Thorns explores this more directly, and I think it’s a good example of how it would realistically start.

Here’s an excerpt from the fic:
When did it start, he would ask himself sometimes. He used to think perhaps Hannibal finally did learn how to reverse time and there he was, being the teenager he never got to be. The cartwheels in his stomach, the breathlessness, the anticipation, the infatuation, the obsession, the pet names, the baby voice, for fuck’s sake. For a few seconds he would feel bad for his ex wife, but those seconds were washed away by a wave of irrelevance. Nothing could stand beside Hannibal, it all became dust next to him. In Will’s aching heart, he occupied all corners like poison, completely overtaking and lethal.

It’s deep intimacy and familiarity bred from years of living together, but it’s also an element of “this individual manages to bring the most insane and deeply buried aspects of myself to the surface”. If Hannibal is able to bring the darkness out of Will, that he suppressed so hard, and Will is able to bring vulnerability from Hannibal, that he also suppressed hard, then it’s likely that given the right conditions, they would also be able to bring the traumas from the past to the surface in a way that isn’t violent or dangerous, such as “baby voice” or, as someone said in the reblogs, “excessive nuzzling, cuddling, scenting, clinging, sleeping like entwined octopuses, little noises of contentment as they touch and kiss”.

I think it could start with something accidental, such as a drunken Will mumbling and complaining about something in a childish way. I think Hannibal would actually fall into this very easily. Not with baby voice, but as the reblog said, nuzzling, scenting, noises of contentment, etc. Hannibal is already quite tender and affectionate even in canon, so I don’t think it’s that hard to imagine him feeling very comfortable to regress with Will. Specially with nuzzling/scenting and probably playful bites, little pinching on the waist, butterfly kisses, etc.
