I like to think Hannibal is okay with Will touching his furniture, books, and the like, freely because Will is good with them. He is mindful that these are things Hannibal takes care of and it shows in how he handles them with decency. Versus Franklyn who can’t read the room to save his life (literally) and throws away used tissues on Hannibal’s table.

I think Hannibal generally has a soft spot for Margot, not saying he wouldn’t eat her, of course. He absolutely would. He would eat someone either way. Just that his encouragement of her killing Mason seemed passionate in that it felt to me as though he was rooting for her success. Hannibal’s world is a slaughterhouse and within it, he would have liked to see Margot gain the upper hand to a certain extent, although under his attention, she was doomed from the very beginning anyway. Hannibal’s intentions are always genuine bar him actually hiding said intentions because in truth no one (except Will) would accept to see things in his perspective. And I felt that all his conversations with Margot had a very sincere mentor-ish vibe along with being the devil on the shoulder spilling poison for the sake of amusement. It’s also fun to see him croon to her about what she should do to kill Mason and then actually meeting Mason and being very openly disdainful towards him.

Thinking bout Will Graham’s short, curly bangs

Mizomono’s gutting scene is ultimately heartbreaking and beautiful to me because both Hannibal and Will are crying. I really do love the balance between “Who I am and what must be done” and “This is something I didn’t want to do” in Hannibal. Will and Hannibal have such strong personalities and it’s really their journey of self-introspection and evolution being catalyzed rapidly by the existence of each other in their respective lives that is so intellectually satisfying.

Will is such a “no nonsense” person. So you see him gradually get seduced by Hannibal’s bullshit through season 1 and that’s amazing in it’s own right.

He went from “Don’t psychoanalyse me - I don’t find you that interesting” to telling Hannibal his deepest darkest secrets about feeling like he is Hobbs still at different times of day and partnering up with Hannibal in the crime of hiding Nick Boyle’s body in order to “protect Abigail” girl this was like watching a car crash in real time🙏

To me, the most shocking part about Will biting a chunk off of Cordell’s cheek is him then noisily spitting it out onto the table. Will has so much anger in his body it’s like his video game character hp. The angrier he is, the more brutally he behaves.

You know, I think the inception of canon romantic hannigram was just from Mads and Hugh’s on-screen chemistry. Heteronormative society and all, I’d always just anticipate men and women having this kind of chemistry on-screen and, at least from what I’ve seen, the natural chemistry between male actors is usually either comedic or grave or brotherly. Mads and Hugh’s on-screen vibe is more… intimate and intelligent. It’s kind of, like, anti-platonic. Maybe it’s the clash of their personal interpretations and portryals of Hannibal and Will. It could also just mean I haven’t seen enough things. I really do think that if it was any other actor in their position, the writing wouldn’t have taken that turn it did in s3.

Gasp incarcerated Will Graham in his straight jacket and mask being rolled away on a dolly cart in public (with extensive security) and a young Hannibal Lecter fresh off the boat who’s a teeny tiny bit infatuated (this can only mean evil deeds)

The scene where Margot tells Hannibal and Will she’s pregnant: Obviously, this is a very private detail and I do not even know why Hannibal was involved in this conversation in the first place, but Will and Hannibal, putting aside talks of murder and cannibalism and god, still have limits right? Will tells him he kissed Alana, but are they really the type of people who’d talk about sex? I think someone has to initiate it, especially after Hannibal has truly revealed himself to Will. So all of a sudden, here is Margot, telling Hannibal that Will and her had sex and she is PREGNANT with his child. That is SO private it’s gross. It’s giving me the creeps. These two fine gentlemen (in their own ways) don’t discuss sex. Their conversations are sanitised, they are poets, not rappers.

But then, Will considers Margot’s duplicity and, angry, betrayed once more despite all his knowledge and wisdom, he turns to Hannibal and asks: “Did you know?”

And to me, that is even more intimate than the sex in the scenes leading up to this. Because the reason why Will and Hannibal talk in circles and don’t discuss anything truly important (instead they make like robbers and steal information about each other, the pettiest crime being HOME INVASION from both sides) is because they can’t be vulnerable. Even though they’re, perhaps, more vulnerable than most people. Hear me out! So ANY time that Will asks Hannibal a yes or no question, and Hannibal, smitten, answers in yes or no (he promised Will his honesty despite anything), it, is, so, erotic. It is so intimate. It feels like they are naked. “What are you going on about?” You may ask, and, yes, this deserves more thought but these are all the words in English that I have for now. Some things in Hannibal can’t be viewed in isolation (in this case) and it’s only a vague piece of the bigger puzzle, but it’s something I love about Hannigram and I garishly isolate it for selfishness.

Hi there I need your help understanding something in the first season why Hannibal framed Will if he was already in love ? He wasn’t that confident about Will not getting death penalty right ?

Hannibal is the devil; he doesn’t subscribe to ordinary human emotions. Whether or not Hannibal loves Will depends on your definition of love. Personally, I see his initial interest in Will as indulgence. He will probably eat him, but first, he wants to play with his food. And the fact that he wants to play with him is an honour in Hannibal’s mind.

Sending Will to prison was an action meant to strip Will off his power and control, because he wanted to see what Will would do when he was cornered. At this point, I’d call it scientific curiosity. He saw a creature he never saw before and wanted to know how it truly ticked. But I think he hoped Will would kill, so that there was a possibility that they could eventually be equals and become friends. And Will tries to kill him, which I imagine made Hannibal very excited.

As for the death penalty, he did interfere with the trial by killing the judge. I think this is because Hannibal would like to control even how Will dies. He’s like a fat spider and all the characters are the small insects caught up in his web waiting to be eaten when he sees it fit.

edit to add: I think the more he interacted with Will, the more he liked him. In s1e7 “Sorbet”, he is tentative about the idea of befriending Will. He seems to be considering just how “alone” he is, you know, being who he is, he can’t just reveal himself to anyone and hope they understand. I think his gears shifted gradually as time passed by in Will’s company until he reached the point of surrendering himself to have Will’s continued attention.

sorry anon, I added so many edits into the ask u sent, i won’t edit it anymore!

Hi thank you for your reply so like is hannigram in love with each other , when the creator says they are canon what exactly should I understand by that

I don’t think of Hannigram in terms of a typical romcom couple where there is a happy ending or a tragedy at the end of the movie. Hannibal and Will each have specific motivations outside of each other and they cannot get out of each other’s orbit. I think they are soulmates; whether that is romantic, platonic, as enemies, I don’t want to define them in black and white. I think it’s a mix of everything. They just share a singular intimacy and they love each other. That “love” is just love, to me. I can’t label it. If you prefer to label it, you should. I believe there is a lot of space in Hannibal that allows for the viewer’s interpretations.

And whether Hannigram is canon, I think the creator, if he said that, was referring to when Bedelia tells Will that Hannibal is in love with him. So this fact is acknowledged by the characters themselves. Hannibal considers Will as, perhaps, an equal, and that he cares for him deeply, in the only way Hannibal will choose to do.

You know, Franklyn was quite intuitive. He was able to correctly deduce that Tobias was a psychopath and that he was in fact using Franklyn as a means of communication with Hannibal. My headcanon is that Hannibal didn’t mind Franklyn except for the reason that Franklyn had no composure or dignity. Franklyn let his thoughts and impulses control him and his latent intelligence didn’t compensate for his patheticness. Then you look at Will who is also in the same grain of intelligence; he intuitively connects dots to reach a fairly accurate conclusion and Hannibal respects it because Will is incredibly self-aware and self-contained (until Hannibal messes with him, of course). There’s no reason for this, I just find it interesting how Hannibal relates to differently similar people

When Will cries in Ko no mono and Hannibal wouldn’t meet his eyes *clenches fist

Post-fall Hannigram travelling by train if you even care. Found this in my docs and edited it a bit!

I love how petulant Hannibal is. He’s incredibly intelligent yet he nurtures his impulsivity. Calling Hobbs and regretting it when he sees the bloody horror it causes. Telling Will to pursue Budge and feeling relieved when he sees Will has survived the challenge. Staying back even after knowing of Will’s betrayal and the imminent danger he is in with the FBI’s scrutiny on him; gutting Will, killing Abigail because he is angry and torn up. His murder spree in Florence to call the attention from his old life to him. Trying to eat Will as a means to have him in some way. Refusing to cooperate in catching Dolarhyde: nothing to gain, he just doesn’t play to anyone’s rules.

It is not that he doesn’t have deep regrets (re: teacup and notebook filled with physics formulae), but the consequences of his actions aren’t enough to stop him from acting in the present. That is just how this man lives his life. It seems almost foolish. He’s childish and honest with his emotions. I love how it adds layers to someone that could have easily been written superficially.

It’s not that Will is weak; he is vulnerable. There is a difference. In the first episode, when Beverly interrupts him, he is in the middle of putting himself in Hobbs’ headspace. Because he has a vivid imagination, it’s easy to lose himself to fantasies. And as Hannibal says, he has no borders between thoughts, so I suppose that Will needs very fine control, or at least need a sense of having control — confidence in his self — to work. This does not mean that Will is one step away from becoming a murderer. This means that Will is one step away from having a breakdown over whether or not he still has control. This doesn’t make him less capable, it makes him vulnerable. He needs his own borders where he knows where everything is inside his head (his room, for example, perhaps a physical manifestation of this if I’m being pessimistic (and I’m sure someone can come up with a more optismistic explanationn for it as well, all about perspective)) so when he tells Hannibal that he feels as though someone moved around the furniture inside his mind, he is saying he is losing confidence within himself.

Later, when he finds out that it was Hannibal’s manipulations that have led him astray, he acts with self-possession. He is alert because he has figured it out. He is confident. Angry. He is back with vigour. Perhaps this is worse because while he wasn’t conscious during the first ride, he now willingly gets into the rollar coaster with Hannibal in order to catch him.

Me insisting to my mom about how “you delight in your wickedness and berate yourself for your delight — you delight, I tolerate… I don’t have your appetite” scene has had a profound influence on my character and moral values, and how it has raised me from when I was a baby as she is simultaneously nodding and trying to peek around my head at the TV to not miss anything from the game on tonight

Hannigram are such bad bitches though, they’re so calculating and vicious. Whoever has the misfortune of getting in their way becomes roadkill. And then they’re at each other’s throats with all that stupid homoerotic energy – what’s up with that anyway? Folks is it gay to sensually remove a bullet from the man whom u’re in love with who just attempted to murder you and then eat his brain? Whatever. The fact that the FBI NEEDS Will to catch them. How QUICKLY Will and Hannibal combined are able to solve murders (muralist and Dolarhyde). Who’s going to catch them now?? Who is skilled enough to go head to head with THEM??????

HIII <3 I’m sorry ur upset, if you’re still taking prompt asks, I would love to see a snippet where hannigram is feeding each other w their hands. Maybe it’s post-fall recovery, whatever you want it to be. I just think getting to touch each other’s teeth tenderly and nourish each other like that would be SOOO groundbreaking and intimate. I hope the rest of ur day/evening/night is better <3

I can appreciate that both Will and Hannibal’s reaction to being betrayed is “I will kill you”

Will is unassuming yet he’s well-read, well-mannered (when he deems to be polite), and is a genius. Hannibal is also unassuming but he is unassuming because he’s well-read, well-mannered (and he hides his genius). They each wear their personas well.

Hannibal dancing with Bedelia scene is crazy in retrospect because he ends up trying to make her auto-cannibalize. I could never be in Bedelia’s position because if Hannibal Lecter danced with me then we’re married in my head #franklyncore

Send me vampire hannigram prompts for snippets (specific prompts please) in my asks and I’ll write them.

Please mind that I can’t write everything and can only write what I personally vibe with and what makes sense to me!

Will being cocksure going “I don’t find you that interesting” and then hours later fumbling and panicking over Abigail dying, while Mr. Ex-emergency surgeon Dr. Lecter over here strides over and perfectly saves her life — later following Abigail and falling asleep at her bedside — must have been such a shock to the system. Will was determined not to think much of this guy who so rudely psychoanalysed him, but then it is impossible not to trust him after he’s displayed such competence in the face of absolute crisis. It is impossible to know whether this show of care towards Abigail was Hannibal’s manipulations to gain Will’s trust or whether it is his guilt over destroying the Hobbs family, or maybe Hannibal just decided he wanted to save her, why not? It just worked so well to break down Will’s walls.

Will says, “We are alone without each other” and I still don’t know if he meant “If we are without each other, we are alone” or “We are the same in that we are alone, but our loneliness are different species and cannot be compared — ergo, I’m not like you”. Hey who wrote this dialogue, call that guy here!

Vampire Will getting overzealous and leaning in to take a bite during one of their harsher talks about morality but Hannibal grabs him by the throat and stops him dead in his tracks. And Will hasn’t felt anything in a while and it’s not like he can die again but why is being held by the neck so hot?

And then homoeroticism ensues (insert porn here?) and eventually Will gets his taste.

For context, Hannibal is filling the dining table with colours and flowers that Will, being a vampire, cannot experience first hand because he is forced to live in the shadows and away from sunlight.

Edit: I think I’ll post this to ao3! With credits to anon of course!!!

Posted my Vampire Will snippet on ao3 if anyone wants to read over there!

Just wanted to share that these were my outfit inspos for Mr. Vampire Will. These are all for women but I imagine them customised for Will’s muscular figure. He’s very old and is partial to precious gems.

I’m accepting Hannigram prompts for drabbles in my asks!! Please keep the prompts specific and please keep in mind that I may not be able to write the prompt if I personally can’t think of any ideas for them or if it doesn’t fit into the scope of my writing style.

No but … Hannibal is so quirky, like…. He wears his well-tailored suit, lives in a posh house, has old-world perfect grammar, knows his forks and spoons and fine arts… And then you peel it all away like an onion and inside he’s impulsively trying to saw off his beau’s skull, makes a dish with Beverly’s kidney in a cracker that resembles Will’s mental asylum mask (and eating it by himself, all self-satisfied!!!!! He makes me sick), turns people into origami hearts because he needs to do some arts & crafts to healthily express his broken heart… And then he’s kneeling in snow because his boyfriend’s like “I don’t want even your filthy CO2 touching me… Now scram…” And his response to that is getting arrested (for life or worse) and displaying all his obsessiveness by declaring that he wants Will to be able to find him in case he needs him…. Bbygirl… He’s not like the other girls… He has SO MUCH personality

Do you know how much the word ‘Hanninal’ means to Will and the word 'Will’ means to Hannibal?

In s2e11, Hannibal says he pales in comparison to god, which of course, Hannibal physically cannot create as much destruction as he thinks god is responsible for, and they’re talking about Abigail’s death, and Will is mourning her loss. However she has been kept alive by Hannibal; he wouldn’t kill her. He committed to a different cruelty – testing Will, manipulating him and later meaning to ‘gift’ her to him. Hannibal isn’t being as destructive as he wants to be. He’s holding back, he sees hope in Will. He pales in comparison to his ideal – he could be much worse, he’s just choosing not to be, because he’s human and alone and he wants Will to be his companion.

Of course, he’s making power moves in both cases. He’s playing god and is in control of Will’s life experiences in either case, but in preserving Abigail’s life, he’s allowing partiality towards Will. He wants to posses him and gift him things and tell him “See what we are capable of? We are extraordinary.”
