Damn, Will would have been the best and worst meal of Hannibal’s entire life.

Dolarhyde really said Will was “not very handsome” with his whole chest. I still think about it, it was so shocking to me. I was so confused. I was like, Will Graham? Hugh Dancy?? That was just some vindictive shit.

To kill or not to kill — I think about why does Hannibal kill? His motives are shallow and his excuses free-range. Isn’t rudeness subjective?

I suppose for him, it’s better to give in to the urge to kill someone rather than letting it fester and rot within him. He knows he doesn’t have to kill and that his murderous urges are not compulsive. To him, it’s thinking about getting eggs from the supermarket on the way home from work and then actually doing it. It’s just something he thinks he has to do, plans it and then does it.

Maybe there is remorse there, he does regret his actions as he goes with whatever he wants to do (“I was curious what would happen”), this childish glee and inquisitiveness doesn’t come without consequences — yet if he were to choose, doing anything and then coming to regret it is better than not doing it at all. If he doesn’t cook, murder, doesn’t call Garrett Jacob Hobbs to tell him Will’s coming, doesn’t kill Abigail, doesn’t try to cut open Will’s brain; he isn’t being true to himself. And the compromise — regardless of how the values of this “self” change under Will’s influence, as long as he is truthful to them, he is a happy soul.

Who else can go to Hannibal Lecter with mischievous eyes and slyly say ‘please’ and have him actually smile amusedly in response and do their bidding? Alana and Bedelia were there making death deals with him, Jack is just waiting to be bitten to death, and then Hannibal’s like “I want him to say please” and Will went *snort* “Please. There I said it.” And Hannibal was like “Ok I’m willing to let you strap me up and dangle me for your nefarious purposes 😘😉😆”

The undercurrent of animosity Will feels for Hannibal is so unfortunate. Not unfortunate that he feels that way (he should, really) but the nature of it is hard to digest because he’s also dangerously attracted to Hannibal (putting aside in a romantic/sexual sense, rather towards Hannibal as an entity). Mads saying Will’s mothman tableaux might be an attempt at erasing Hannibal makes so much sense to me; the prisoner is a permanent stain in Hannibal’s life that he’s not been “allowed” to truly triumph due to Chiyo’s insistence (or that he has triumphed over him, or maybe he can’t no matter what he does. Could be anything, really). My take on this is that Hannibal decided he could play this another way and trapped both Chiyo and the prisoner in one move; he doesn’t need to kill the prisoner or maybe it’s useless to kill him. Either way, it’s not emotionally detrimental to him that the prisoner dies. Yet Hannibal doesn’t return: 1. There is nothing here for him to return to (he, who is materialistic and needs many resources to live) and 2. He is running away from the past he has no control over in any way (the teacup won’t come back together). What does it mean for Will to visit this festered raw wound of a place and seize authority over the situation? Will, if it is an attempt to erase Hannibal, has done something quite perverted. He invaded Hannibal’s home, opened up the family chest and destroyed whatever he found within it that Hannibal left behind, without permission or knowledge of the owner. A thief who wanted not just riches, but retribution as well.

I mean, we already know who the Chesapeake Ripper is but no one in the show does, so there is a certain sense of mystique to who he is and what he’s like, right? Will must have wondered what this cruel man must probably be like; he must blend in well, but who could possibly — where does he live—? What does he look like, how do we get him? What is his diction like, what does he dislike? Why does he dislike? Right? Right. Now Will has been framed by Hannibal. He’s locked up. He realises Hannibal is the copycat first. Then he figures out Hannibal is the Chesapeake Ripper. Now they overlap: The Chesapeake Ripper is this kind of a person. Intelligent, normal (as much as), trustworthy, competent. He enjoys cooking elaborate meals. He’s a psychiatrist. He’s Will’s psychiatrist. He wears custom clothing, he has a European accent. He’s old money. He took Miriam Lass. He mentored Alana Bloom. He framed Will. He’s been in Will’s house and they’ve been searching for him all over the country. All of a sudden, it’s all there. He’s known the Chesapeake Ripper intimately before he’d really met him. That is a chilling re-contextualisation. I’m very fond of it.

*smirk “I’m a good fisherman, Jack.”

HOW would we know. All you do is daydream about fishing. You go to work, struggle miserably, come home, struggle miserably, play with your dogs, recover, fix boat mortors like it’s your filial duty, then sit in “therapy” sessions all week. WHEN have you ever fished?! I’ve NEVER seen you fish apart from when you were inhaling it like copium during your trial! Even in your daydreams you caught NOTHING! You just like standing in water! No wonder Hannibal got away /j

Etiquette youtuber Hannibal Lecter. He has a lot of trolls in his audience. Posts seldom but goes viral often. Seems pleasant but the things he says are condescending to those who are smart enough to tell.

DIY youtuber Will Graham. He teaches you how to fix sinks, cars, boats, doors, build dog houses. A majority of his viewers are people with deadbeat fathers. He doesn’t talk about anything other than technicalities, though, no moral support, nothing. Posts frequently. Curt.

For all that Hannibal exhibits OCPD tendencies, I think he’s actually quite capable of indifference as well. For example, I think if he and Will were to live together, he wouldn’t be too hung up on his previous standards of life. I think Hannibal is surprisingly adaptible simply because he can exert that sort of control over himself. He doesn’t need to set that book parallel to the edge of the desk; he does it because he can. How to say, he isn’t compulsive. He is stubborn, but if he has to let that stubbornness go to achieve a goal, he will. He is like the antithesis to OCD. He doesn’t let anything dictate what and how he should interact with something. If Will tracks in mud, he is sure Will will clean it up; that’s part of the reason why he likes Will. Will’s considerate and clean. If Chilton tracked in mud, Chilton would end up in a stew. This is all to say, to him, his lifestyle is a priority but it can also be made into a not-priority, because Hannibal is that self-possessed. But the standard for that to happen is singularly Will Graham.

I can’t explain it but Hannibal’s just a girl.

Hot take but if Will made himself more approachable or put himself in a position of accessibility, I think Franklyn would have grown obsessed with him as well. In my eyes, Franklyn is the type of person with whom if you pull back, he is drawn further in. The more secrets you hide, the more he wants to cling to you and endear himself to you. He wants to be special to you, so you have to be an especially picky person. He’s intuitive so he’s good at subconsciously weedling under the persona, and I think s2b-3 Will is very secretive and quiet and a perfect target.

I want to rant hannigram with someone😔

It doesn’t even have to be Hannibal (ignoring the fact that it’s Hannibal), I just want to see another film/show with Mads and Hugh where they have non-platonic tension. A horror romcom, just a romcom for non-young adults, no comedy just romance, no romance just horror, a silent film, a thriller, slice-of-life, even just a short film… Their chemistry is so great I want to see if it translates to other scripts as well.

Winston waiting outside while Hannibal was running Mason through the wringer inside Will’s house is so funny. Will’s like “Why are you here, where are the others?” And Winston’s probably like, “You wouldn’t want to be in there if you know what was happening either”

He’s such a good boy for not eating Mason though. He’s got that pizzaz to his personality. All of Will’s other dogs act like he didn’t just feed them homemade dog food just a couple hours ago.

amarriageoftrueminds:

I saw a meta post talking about how Will and Hannibal are so attuned to each other that they move in sync, even when they’re not watching each other …

And now I can’t stop thinking about Will attending one of Hannibal’s fancy galas… getting asked to dance by Hannibal and warning that he can’t… not noticing that, while he was talking, they’ve been gliding gracefully round the floor in perfect synchronicity.

Wrote a fic (vaguely) inspired by this idea~

Wrote a fic with post-fall Hannigram dancing!! “Jang-mi” is “rose” in Korean.

Hannibal is so nasty, decorating Gideon’s body like that in Chilton’s house😭 He arranges the thigh meat so artfully, like who has the patience to do all that, are you mental? He’s like, ‘Oh look, Chilton’s so sick in the head for arranging a human body like this oop😰🤭 pls catch him Mr. FBI🥺’ like he didn’t make Gideon auto-cannibalize 😭

It really is so ajsjsjsns that Hannigram have had this polite physical distance between them that feels like it’s tangible in and of itself, and then we get to Mizumono and it’s like they’ve gotten up from their seats in Hannibal’s office and walked straight to each other, gun and knife in hand, and ended up doing something so intimate it feels like their outlines are erasing and they’re melting into a pile of goo onto the floor together. The distance between them returns when they meet again, and again when Will is shot, they’re suddenly grabbing each other and holding on and it’s like they were always touching. It’s like they were always like this. They give me the impression of maintaining control through the persona of polite distance, so to see them cross their own lines to get the point across is soooo 18+. They couldn’t NOT touch each other intimately, is what I’m saying.

I absolutely ADORE all the Hannigram regency fics out there yet I do crave a regency AU where Hannibal is still a cannibal. I just love the idea of Duke or Earl Hannibal Lecter causing mayham in the capital with his macabre string of bodies because we can easily take this party up a notch, can’t we? Sure dancing all night is fun BUT there is also a closed-door murder at 3 a.m. and no one can figure out what the viscount of whats-it-called has done to deserve to be killed and have both his kidneys stolen! No DNA tracing available, no security cams, just Hannibal coming up with creative ways to enrich his environment in the 1800s.

not me reblogging will graham gifs like he’s a kpop boy

This man Hannibal was really out here saying that Will, in his most sickened and dishevelled state, had the scent of a fevered sweetness.

Once again, my hands are tingling; if you guys have hannigram prompts (for small snippets, please be specific) send them to my ask. I have a specific writing style so if I may not be able to write yours, please be understanding!

tayasui-mono:

Sick of the socially anxious, shy Will Graham retoric; this guy’s anti-social and is a mistrustful prick. He sucks. He’s rude on purpose. He barks. He bites. He spreads rabies.

“How does that make you feel?”

*scoff, “How does that make you feel?”

?????

“Tell me about your mother.”

“Some lazy psychiatry, Dr. Lecter.”

???????????

“Let’s keep it professional.” “I don’t find you that interesting.” “You could wreck some foster homes and torment some children…” “The light of friendship won’t reach us for a million years, that’s how faraway from friendship we are” “There will be a reckoning.” “You didn’t die enough.” “Soup isn’t very good.”

Brother is so soft-spoken to his doggie children. Then he meets a human being and cringes like he can’t wait to go home and wash his eyes with soap.

If Hannibal could see how Will perceives the world as he perceives it; all the visual connections Will makes fluidly, the pervading gore, the motility of dimmond’s heart shaped torso reaching for him in the shape of Hannibal’s stag, how Will perceives himself even, the erupting antlers, being birthed from the stag’s womb – if Hannibal could see all this, he’d have to be literally cut away from Will. He’d be so obsessed with him, there would be no space to breathe.

Just discovered that Hannigram’s Japanese ship name is “Lecwill” レクウィル

There’s fanart on pixiv under this tag!!

Incredible how Will never revisits Randall Tier but his head was full of Hobbs. Both his victims by proxy, still, there is a disassociation with Randall. Will doesn’t think about him, at all. The circumstances of that night, whatever he’s done during his “honey trap”, Will doesn’t legitimize them in his head.

Hannibal being pitch perfect and when he’s alone, he absent-mindedly finds the note on his harpsichord that matches the sound Will made in moments of pain or pleasure

You’re just, some guy, a psychiatrist weak to entertainment, and one day a super important man from the FBI comes knocking so you pick up your scalpel thinking they’ve finally caught on to your bloody trail, but no. He’s here to hire you to offer council to another guy, just a dude who’s supposedly really special, while he works on things that are not exactly your exact shade of the macabre (unpalatable, really,) but close enough. So you go, because you are bored, and what fun it is to enter the belly of your “hunter”? Then you’re meeting Adonis in spectacles who’s adorable as fuck, who’s keeping up with your abstract conversation, and you just want to mess with him so bad. But then you fall in love and pine in Italy! Hannibal nbc, the summary:

I want to emphasize that the students at Quantico are adults who hold a degree or two, plus at least one year of full time job experience, and that is including people like Miriam Lass, who has extensive academic and technical experience in law enforcement, forensics, and psychology. Will Graham isn’t teaching kids, he’s teaching adults, and that makes that scene where he asks if anyone can figure out the “trick” from Hobbs’ resignation letter and having many people raise their hands – only to then pull the rug from under their feet by saying there aren’t any, extra painful. He’s so mean??? Yes, he’s teaching effectively (through emotional pain), but he’s just, so, snappy. I know he’s standing there at the lectern and sighing internally sometimes.

Zeller constantly being condescending to Will throughout s1 while he slept with Lounds and leaked enough info to obstruct an active investigation is so hypocritical of him… It only took Will being acquitted for him to come around – well, his playground style nitpicking is not not understandable. Still, glass houses and throwing stones and all that. All of us, even the most self-aware, have some quantity of Zeller in us, that’s the funny(?) part.

It could also be that Zeller was afraid of Will. Instinctively, I mean. Will’s brain works in a different dimension and Zeller must have felt enough discomfort with the “unknown” quality in Will that he forgot to be empathetic towards him after all.
