S2e2 is so…!!! I want to hate Hannibal so much because he’s imprisoned Will and is acting all coy, continuing to fear-monger him going “you have pieces missing from yourself, Will, careful what you replace them with” AND THEN you follow him on his solo adventure and he’s so fucking silly that I CAN’T hate him. He has solved the case secretly all on his own and goes to the crime scene AND THE IMAGE he makes climbing that building(?) in his transparent onesie is SO beautiful and goofy and unimaginable. It’s so audacious. When he cooked that leg, I boo-ed in my head. Also he was giving Nara Smith cooking with his duck lips, glossy slicked back hair and designer clothes. You’re alone, to what end? Why does he have to look like a model while cooking some guy’s leg for himself? My favourite part has to be Hannibal eagerly leaning forward while finally watching Will do his ‘thing’ and see if he figures out what Hannibal did. Very dog salivating after jerky of him. 10/10, fuck him.

One thing I really appreciate about Will is that his anger motivates him. When he figures out that Hannibal is a serial killer who framed him and institutionalized him, he is overcome with fury and a desire for retribution. He is not afraid of Hannibal, or perhaps, his ire is so powerful that it’s inconsequential. I imagine anybody who’s as emotionally intelligent as Will would be scared in his position, but Will isn’t. He’s just thinking “That piece of shit!!!!!!!”

It’s so hot how intelligent Hannigram are…. FBI out here chasing their own tails meanwhile Hannibal and Will solved the case in THEIR OWN WAY… I’m taking about Mural guy btw… Hannibal and Will both realised the latest guy got himself free from the stitchings (Hannibal from his intimate knowledge of anatomy and Will using his galaxy brain to reach a unique conclusion), Hannibal figuring out the location with his olfactory senses, Will thinking ‘Well what does this killer need? An isolated place nearby water’, and they both reached the killer after taking different paths.. that’s so incredible to me… it highlights their unique talents and individual thinking processes, like.. they’re profoundly different but they reach the same place in the end after taking their own paths.

The reason why Hannibal is able to ignore Will’s welfare, I think, partly has to do with the fact that Hannibal himself wouldn’t feel protective over his own illness. Hannibal, if he was in Will’s place suffering with encephalitis, wouldn’t care so much about pain and other symptoms as much as he would feel possessive over his future actions. For example if he had a motive, he would be more concerned with accomplishing that motive despite his illness rather than the illness itself. Hannibal is comfortable with the idea of death, and is able to view his physical wellbeing through a practical lens. In a way, his mind is soooo inquisitive and focused that his own body becomes a lab rat in certain contexts. The most important thing to Hannibal that Hannibal possesses is his mind. Same with Will. Hannibal can watch Will suffer with a 105°F fever because he is more invested in Will’s motives, and what Will does to achieve those motives, and how he will go about doing it with his brain on fire. In this way, I think, Hannibal’s extreme artistic and scientific perspectives balance each other.

Hi! If you’re okay with this, can you please explain what this quote from Hannibal by Will Graham means: “He's a monster. I see him as one of those pitiful things, sometimes born in hospitals. They feed it, keep it warm, but they don’t put it on the machines. They let it die. But he doesn’t die. He looks normal and nobody can tell what he is.”

Also, if you’re okay with it, can you please share how you feel about it?

*i say heart ripped out pre-mortem and it’s not necessarily that, I know. Semantics? What I meant to imply being surgical mutilation and the crime scene having similar ingredients to a Ripper’s case.

Something so honest about Hannibal “training” Chiyo. She says he would blindfold her and throw in different things into the fire for her to identify through scent. On the one hand, Hannibal probably needed more stimulation in his relationships and may have wanted Chiyo to be on par with his proclivities. On the other hand, it’s mean. Chiyo has to play his games, and his games interest him, mainly. I also wonder if he wanted to make her strong like him, turn her into a hunter, but I can imagine Hannibal only doing so out of a distant fondness or boredom. In the end she did have to become sharp and keen in order to keep up with him, and it seems he does respect her and is fond of her.

Who else can go to Hannibal Lecter with mischievous eyes and slyly say ‘please’ and have him actually smile amusedly in response and do their bidding? Alana and Bedelia were there making death deals with him, Jack is just waiting to be bitten to death, and then Hannibal’s like “I want him to say please” and Will went *snort* “Please. There I said it.” And Hannibal was like “Ok I’m willing to let you strap me up and dangle me for your nefarious purposes 😘😉😆”

tayasui-mono:

Post-fall Hannigram travelling by train if you even care. Found this in my docs and edited it a bit!

tayasui-mono:

Remember when Hannibal took the witness stand for the murders HE committed? If men have one thing it’s audacity

tayasui-mono:

The contrast between “person-veil” Hannibal who shouts, “HE HAS A GUN, JAAACKK!!!” In a panicked, wobbly voice when Matthew Brown has him cornered vs. “Nothing-left-to-hide” bare skin Hannibal taking Mason’s knife in his thigh like a champ and later talking shit immediately after getting shot by Dolarhyde whilst laying stylishly on the floor (instead of collapsing in shock like a normal person) is so sinister and delicious I really don’t know how to explain it. My man is a psychopath for real??? He’s playing games??? That condescending “You’ve got everything figured out” to Mason right after Cordell tells Hannibal how he was going to cook him. Hannibal Lecter is so unabashedly unafraid of literally any person in that show it’s not even funny…

Will wouldn’t have thought their Dolarhyde kill was beautiful if it wasn’t someone like Dolarhyde being their foe. It is not the mindless act of murder that is attractive—in fact, that is unattractive—it is the fact that Dolarhyde made Will feel powerless, and viscerally taking that power back is what is beautiful. Will is not Hannibal (obviously) and he doesn’t have Hannibal’s sense for finding beauty in misery and tragedy. For him, it is all about power and anger and desperation. When he finds himself unable to fully hate Hannibal (Will finds comfort in Hannibal’s intelligent company) he then points his gun at Ingram as a substitute. A desperate, violent grapple to reclaim his agency and get revenge, which Hannibal stops—and this word sounds juvenile but I wonder if Hannibal felt this way—meanly. He refuses Will his catharsis (not that it was an appropriate solution any way). That is a moment I really like; it’s not that Will is killing, but Will is a person who isn’t mindful about his foot slipping down the edge of the cliff when he’s seeing red. And it is very very important to understand what makes him feel powerless and angry. He is not a vigilante of justice—he is a man with sharp teeth and a killer bite.

Sick and tired of Hannibal looking at Will like he’s in love with him and by that I mean I’m neither sick nor tired–keep looking at him like you’re so fond of him I love it when the bad guys have a loving, burning heart.

I love hannigram fics where Will and Hannibal have separate bedrooms that are connected by a mutual bathroom. This trope is so good!

My favourite part about Hannibal and Alana is that they have no chemistry whatsoever. They’re both attractive and intelligent, but their personalities at the core are so incompatible it’s like oil and water. Hannibal’s good doctor persona especially clashes with her vulnerability. It’s just, so bland against her expressiveness. Things are better in s3, there is clear distaste from her side, and from Hannibal’s side, you can tell what he really thinks of her. His disdain and her power over him make for a more invigorating tension. It’s more intimate than whatever the fuck they were upto in s2.

has someone made a Hannigram edit to Chappell Roan’s Good Luck, Babe yet? Because I’m about to learn video editing if not

“Hello, Dr Lecter.” to “I need you, Hannibal.”

Will Graham, you leave us all speechless

The lyric “My hands holding yours which stabbed me are not clean either” from Taemin’s song criminal is SO Hannigram post-mizumono coded from Will’s pov!!! Yeah! Your stabbed me, but I let you stab me. I allowed you close enough, knowingly, consciously, to drag a blade through my stomach and rip it open—and while you were doing that, I let you hug me.

Ok so the Japanese fandom calls hannigram lecwill レクウィル and the Korean fandom calls it willnibal 윌니발

Once in a blue moon, someone angelic puts beautiful head shots of Hannibal Lecter on my twt tl and I say in my head, “Thank you”.

I love how Will is clearly not a fighter like Tobias, Hannibal or Jack, but is capable of bashing someone’s face in with just his fists. He’s a brute and is viscious.

Lee Harker and Will Graham are birds of a feather wow. Imagine them working a case together

Reading a hannigram fic and the line was “Will Graham is a puzzle” but I read it as “Will Graham is a pizza” and I realised, startled, that either works within the context of his partner being a cannibal.

I love how Hannibal’s demand that Will ask him ‘pretty please’ isn’t a power grab or a show of authority, but its something thats petty because Will left him hanging and ill-footed in their previous interaction. So Will goes to him, says “I need you Hannibal” and tells him, “please” in a tone and with a look that really says “there, I said it.” Then we get Hannibal’s indulgent smile. It’s a joke!!! They’re fucking around!! Everybody’s serious about catching the dragon, gravely discussing how they can play this with Hannibal in the game, and these two have their own little impish, petty, inside joke going on. It’s like “Hey omg godzilla resurfaced we need to evacuate!!!” And in the background there’s Hannibal asking out Will and Will’s twirling his hair behind the library desk pretending to consider.

I love when Hannibal just very obviously stares at Will’s side profile sometimes and it’s kind of like, like ‘why are you looking at me, please look elsewhere’ kind of thing if you know what I mean, but Will just lets him stare. He knows Hannibal’s staring and he just lets him. It’s such a big dick move idk what to say. A part of Will is very indifferent to antics and I love that. In that way where Hannibal is fussy and overflows, Will is like an immovable rock and doesn’t give a fuck.

Still crazy about HOW Will put Hannibal in jail. In OG books and movies, Hannibal attempts to kill Will, Will fights back, Hannibal goes to jail and Will suffers from trauma—whole ordeal is grim and horrific. In s2 of the show, Will attempts to inprison him by working behind his back. If it had worked—if Hannibal never found out Will was playing him—and he’d been caught, I think Mizumono would have simply been postponed. The key is in Will’s decision to follow Hannibal to Italy. At this point, they’re both a bit in limbo, right? This is the wound-healing phase. They’re tender, in pain, and hopeful. They try to kill each other, which is an important detail specifically within this context for creating momentum. They’re moving away from limbo, going forward—hope and suspense—and then Will breaks him in the gentlest way possible. He tells him “I am indifferent towards you.” No more momentum. No more anything. The player is withdrawing. Will baits him; Hannibal falls for it. He surrenders, he says he’ll wait in place for Will for when he chooses to return. It’s so meaningful and devious and gentle and lovely. Will is cunning and resilient. The way to take down Hannibal isn’t with a gun in his cellar, but by plunging a knife gently into his heart. Of course, he’d have to love you first. It adds so much depth to Hannibal, so much humanity and loveliness.

You heard it here first, Fannibals: Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are heading to @NY_Comic_Con 2024 for a #Hannibal reunion. https://t.co/jNaILZtHWc pic.twitter.com/sES3LLK5S9
