I really like how Will never feels safe with Hannibal. He’s not comfortable, he doesn’t trust him. But he still gravitates towards him, acknowledging with absolute clarity the risk this may pose to him. Ultimately, Will just likes Hannibal. He likes talking to him, he understands the rules Hannibal works with, he rebels against him, he fights him, he admires him and he is very, very, very fond of him. Hannibal is a piece of him. And he’s a piece of Hannibal. I really like how the unhealthy nature of their relationship co-exists with a stark, clear intelligence and affection, like oil and water. They both have power in their interactions, after s1. They both influence each other and they both love each other. They’re a binary star, simply no one else compares.
