I wonder why mizumono is called mizumono and not koorimono but this is just me automatically imagining shaved ice when i read mizumono because mizu (water) mono (thing) + food = shaved ice (???)

Why is mizu associated with dessert anyway, don’t all foods have water… Why is it mizumono and not amaimono… Or toubun?? Something sweet…

Gasp so i searched it… Mizumono is a dish that needs to have a considerable amount of water content but there is a second definition for it. あてにならないもの = something that is unreliable/slippery. Which makes so much sense. Mizumono - watery thing - something unreliable/uncertain. Somehow it’s so apt with season 2b Will
