Why do you think Hannibal became so suicidal in Florence? Why was moping so much in Italy?

Hannibal was never suicidal! That is antithetical to his entire being. He was self-destructive, but as in all things with Hannibal, it was intentional and controlled self-destruction. Bedelia says it herself: he’s leaving bread crumbs (BLOOD crumbs) so Will and Jack find him. In Mizumono, he was supposed to leave them all behind for good, but turns out, he misses Will and he misses their games. He wants Will’s company which Will denies to him. He is happy in Italy, but he needs something else. He is like a child with a plate full of his favourite meat, constantly craving ice cream that previously caused him cavities. And Bedelia is face palming somewhere in the background,shaking her head at this lunacy.
