haven’t been able to stop thinking of a locked tomb + his dark materials crossover all week, so here’s some incredibly self-indulgent ramblings and sketches to exorcise the concept out of my head (gideon’s daemon is a pokemon - a growlithe - because of course gideon’s daemon would be a pokemon)

a quick bonus for vee mercyisms who suggested the similarities/parallels between mercymorn and augustine and marisa and asriel

A drawing of Mercymorn and Augustine standing side by side by with their daemons with them. Mercymorn's daemon is a golden snub nosed monkey that is perched on her shoulder. Augustine is a giant snow leopard that he has one hand in the fur of. Mercymorn has tan skin and pink hair, and Augustine has pale skin and blond hair, although the colouring of all is washed out by the pastel lighting of the artwork.ALT

had some unexpected feelings last night about mercymorn building the eighth house as a monument to cristabel, and then never visiting it again
