Funniest bit of me reading Nona was [[spoilers]] when a character I was absolutely sure was Ianthe was described as having shiny brown hair and I went IS SHE WEARING A WIG?? WHAT THE HELL’S WRONG WITH HER? before realising it was Ianthe possessing Naberius (wearing all of Naberius as a wig, as it were), at which point I went oh phew, that makes much more sense. That is much more normal.
