at the start of gtn he had 4 lyctors and he said that wasn’t enough so then he called all the heirs of his houses together to get some more lyctors… and of the nine house heirs that showed up:
only 2 became lyctors
2 were captured by the rebellion
literally every single other house heir was killed
and by the end of htn john only has 1 lyctor because:
cytherea, mercy, and augustine all betrayed him and died(?)
harrow tried to undo her lyctorhood and died(?)
g1deon is also dead(?)
and not to mention his only lyctor left is ianthe. so what’s john’s plan now???? his last brilliant plan to get more lyctors ended with him even more shorthanded…. so now he’s gotta be desperate. and i was also thinking about how it’s also implied that john put down alecto because his lyctors begged him to…. what if he wakes her back up… just some thoughts

ok so we never get a super clear description of exactly what knuckle knives are, other than they have blades and also some sort of wrist strap buckle situation.
and i know they are likely meant to be some kind of glove with blades, a la wolverine claws, but IMO it would be very funny if they were just. bladed brass knuckles with the wii remote wrist strap:
