one thing I like about tazmuir as an author is that at any given time she will be like “here is a character,” and I will think “that’s nice, but I don’t care. please return me to my beautiful Gideon” and then she’ll be like “no. look at this other character under a microscope. they are so fucked up and full of love in such specific ways. probably they are bad at sex also.” and I make a shocked face and welcome them into the pantheon in my heart, still waiting to hear from my beautiful gideon, at which point tazmuir will show me another character. and then.
Discussion: Does anyone in the TLT have a period? Why the omission of menstruation in a series that otherwise doesn’t shy away from these kinds of topics?
Some options:
A) Due to the complex side effects of resurrection, no one has a period per-se.
B) Tamsyn is not a perfect person and fell into the common trope of forgetting people menstruate
C) Tamsyn purposely omitted periods because they fucking suck
D) A disturbing side effect of a society run my sweaty necromancers is that bleeding out a random hole is no more worthy of comment than sneezing. This implies they also free bleed.
E) Necromancers figured out how to not menstruate like day 2 of having necromancy
F) John forgot people menstruate and just. Didn’t include it. Misogyny won today.
I hope John gets to go back to the first house one last time before the story ends. He’s tried so hard to keep his home unchanged, like it’s another body he froze before he left, keep it in the state he knew it as. I hope when he returns it’s not what he expects, I hope he gets the chance to see the nights sky and see that the constellations changed. And I hope when Alecto confronts him it’ll feel like that as well.
#tlt #I bet he CAN’T go back to earth #I bet he’ll die if he does #earth will tear her soul back from him with so much gravity that it rips him to shreds #I think that would be cool if that’s why he really stays away #and maybe if that’s how he dies - maybe it’s the only way he can die
The reason Ianthe is Like That btw is because the locked tomb is an video game told from the perspective of the NPCs and she’s the Player Character, hope this helps!
Trying to romance every character? ✅
Making the worst possible decisions for no reason other than “unlimited power, and my face on posters”? (That was definitely a multi-choice dialogue option) ✅
Constantly being relevant to the plot and thinking every character in the game loves her even though she has almost exclusively caused misery? ✅
First one to reach the big goal, but not a high enough level for the boss fight, so the NPCs had to step in to remind the game that they are also cool and powerful? ✅
Avatar and clothing change options she keeps using all the time? ✅
Had to level up in friendship with the major NPC of the second arc in order to unlock the legendary item that would boost her weapons damage because she accidentally maxed out on magic in character creation? ✅
The funniest thing about Harrowhark Nonagesimus is that she’ll survive being maimed without fuss I’m talking full on sword through the ribs no worries but a salt and vinegar crisp would absolutely annihilate her
