Maki you're going to destroy me with the Lyctor/Cavalier art, I literally went down a Mercymorn/Cristabel rabbit hole this morning because even though Mercy is a massive asshole my heart broke for her when she realised that Cristabel didn't have to die and that she is still so torn up over her loss 10,000 years later

Aw thanks! Apologies in advance for the lyctor/cav art. 😛 Came up with the idea as a way to draw characters like Cristabel, A.L., etc. without having to commit too hard on designs and ended up self-inflicting feels lol.

Mercymorn is one of my favorites from HtN actually and I was also super struck by how she’s still so affected whenever Cristabel comes up. The unfathomably long time scale of the lyctors’ emotions and plans… it’s all ridiculously compelling. I want to know more of their stories so badly.

Mercymorn centered, focuses on the events leading up to Mercy and Augustine’s decision to betray god. There are some serious Mercymorn/Cristabel feels in the later chapters, as well as quotes that have ripped my heart out and stomped on it more than once.

I’m underselling it, I know, but believe me when I say that this is my all-time favourite fic and definitely worth a read.
