Just saw your crux- If there were ever a tlt graphic novel, I could only envision it featuring your art! Absolutely stunning and dynamic designs, so rich with their character and energy!
Obviously, that’s not ALL the TLT comics, but the firsts i can recall in few minutes. Probably you’ve already seen the vast part of them! If you liked any of these, i would ask for a reblog of any of comics, because algoritms are rough as usual, and we need to keep things circulatIng if we want more of them :D
Also, i’d like to see more recommendation if you or any other viewer have some <3
in addition to all the other reasons the soup scene is so funny, there’s also the element of like… pulling the reverse eucharist card on god in the game of catholic uno. make god eat YOUR body and blood for once, actually, see how he likes it. the heresy of it all
mostly surprised at people finding kiriona difficult to parse because on a sheerly metatextual level i don’t really see a more, idk, favourable direction that gideon’s character could have gone in without a) weakening the anti-imperialist throughline and specifically the angle from which the totality of imperialism’s reach + violence makes itself felt and b) weakening the connections between christ/christianity and imperialist violence specifically that muir tries to mobilise. like personally when i got to that part of the book i was pumping my fist like hell because it’s so stark and ruthless and so much clearer and less compromising than any capitulation to render gideon a ~hero of sorts might have been lol. it’s about the metatextual work babes!
i find this version of gideon where she idk defects to insurgent forces(?) with harrow(???) and Kills God or whatever unfulfilling both in that it just makes no sense with what we know of her motivations and in that it doesn’t provide a genuinely compelling account of the threads between imperialism / christianity / sexuality / sexual abuse / gender / death and necromancy and agency that the books have worked hard to thread together. like, this is hollow and boring. but kiriona? that actually mobilises something! that gets you somewhere good!
Now that Nona is out, will there be more of John's Scripture illustrated? Live what you've done so far.
i would love to do that in the future! though first i have a few unrelated tlt WIPs i’m excited about. i’m so glad you liked my comic. i think about john a lot for him being my most detested tlt character, number one loser-man, putting him in the bowl of my mortar and pestle, etc
