Okay but regarding a TLT adaptation the ideal form is actually a muppet movie BUT the only characters who are muppets are the lyctors. We go into GTN with absolutely no idea it’s not a standard adaptation until we land at Canaan and we meet Dulcinea Septimus and she’s a muppet. (If we’re assigning Muppet actors I’m thinking Gonzo, he’s the best ingenue but I’m open to suggestions.) No one addresses this. We get no more muppets until near the end when Ianthe becomes a lyctor. A pivotal moment, she’s sitting under the ‘you lied to us’ message, blood dripping down her arms and face and also she’s made of felt and just a little guy. The Cytherea Ianthe fight at the end there is brutal and visceral and also borderline very funny. Harrow turns into a muppet momentarily at the end of GTN but is a person in a spaceship full of muppets for the entirety of HTN.

however, i must say i am curious what this entails for the ntn crew—the unmuppitude of htn harrow implies that muppethood is tied to a form of Proper or Perfect lyctorhood, but where do we draw that boundary? presumably ianthe-in-naberius is a lyctor, given the precedent of cytherea-in-dulcie, but what about palamedes-in-naberius? pal-in-cam? is pyrrha-in-g1deon a muppet because g1deon was a lyctor? or is g1deon’s body unmuppetized when he dies again? where does paul fall on this spectrum? what about nona? kiriona? (because i must say, although not consistent with your stated rules, kiriona being simply a muppetized version of gideon is a HILARIOUS way to the play the whole “my father made my skin as strong as steel. i am his perfect blade” shit.)

These are such good questions. I have ALSO analyzed the shit out of this and have determined that Pyrrha in G1deon is still a muppet (adds more drama to the ‘I’m trapped inside my best friend’s body’, and it would ruin the reveal in HTN if they were switching all the time). For Ianthe-in-Naberius in my heart Naberius is still just a corpse, same with Pal in him, I don’t think the muppet body is transferable. Pal-in-Cam is probably still a human because they don’t actually have any lyctoral capability (BUT it would be so good if Pal-in-Cam was a muppet version of Cam and no one commented on it and Nona was still like ‘I honestly don’t know how everyone else can’t tell’). I think Nona is still a human for the same reasons, she doesn’t have lyctoral capabilities, no one is using anyone’s soul for a battery. Your Kiriona idea is SOO good and someone else said that constructs should also be muppets which I’m into. I’ve got no idea with Paul though, possibly a human sized muppet?
